Definitely for me has to be £4.88 per week as a lollipop man about 30 years ago. What made it worse was the equipment had been stored in a building that had been in a fire.So the the jacket was smoked damaged and the lollipop was bent. The humiliation of sharing this is painful. :(

Sorry but that made me giggle

Worst paid job I’ve ever done was a brief stint as a home shopper at Tesco…you know, the people who wander up and down with a big trolley with boxes on, picking the internet orders. It was to top up my income, I thought it would be easy enough walking up and down doing other people’s shopping for them…unfortunately I started in the week of the fuel blockades and petrol shortages, everyone was panic buying and it was a nightmare! I stuck it for 3 weeks then decided that I didn’t need the money enough to put up with the abuse (from the employers as much as the customers!).

Can’t remember, but it was whatever the minimum wage was at the time…I was thinking in terms of worst job…I guess the worst paid was clerical admin in a co-operative warehouse, £19.50 a week for a 40 hour week and we were supposed to be grateful when the boss gave us each a catering size jar of pickled vegetables at Christmas! :-…

The worst job I ever had was being an under-paid dental nurse in 1986 ……..no tea break and quite often the dentist would run over his time slots so I would end up with 5 mins for dinner……..after a few months I left and signed on as I didn’t have another job to go to……….the DSS at the time said I wasn’t entitled to any benefit but when I explained how bad it was they advised me to take him to a tribunal and I won…….I got benefit back dated and compensation from the dentist, and he was investigated for poor treatment of employees
    :D/

a job that i didnt actually take ( needless to say!) was one I applied for about 3 years ago. It was in a shop and they guy who interviewed me told me that the pay was £60 per week for a 40 hour week. he said, and i quote ” what u have to understand is that money is not important, whats important is being employed”. My reply was, and i quote , ” Has that fu ck ing line ever worked?” !!
