So … wheres the ban?
I was told that preventing vile and hateful abuse was this sites #1 priority.

22 February, 2021 at 11:33 am #1135096I would like to document another unprofessional exchange with a chat guide.
Context (not captured):
When I logged into the room the conversation was about insurance on bank accounts being covered up to £75,000. I mentioned that it isn’t a good idea to keep that much money in a bank account and it would be better to invest it.
LE responded that investments have some risk of losing value, which can certainly be true. I offered the counter arguement thant saving money in a bank is a guarenteed loss of value because it is erroded over time by inflation (especially at the moment).
For some reason LE did not like this and threatened to mute me for an indeterminate reason:
I responded to this mentioning the abuse that I documented in the original post of this thread. To this i was told to “grow up”, which wasn’t the response given to people who were abused by guests (except me), they all had to be banned, even the innocent ones.
When other users expressed concern over this, LE seemingly tried to deny that anyone has ever been muted or banned from JC. Not sure what the purpose of this was.
When I reminded LE that I was threatened with an unjustified mute, I was told that it “was a statement not a threat” … whatever that is suppose to mean. It’s was clearly a threat.

You always have to have all the attention. Can’t you just take a break Drac?22 February, 2021 at 12:33 pm #1135101If it be names or numbers always can be toxic here in some form.
Change not easy. Acceptance not easy, but working for a common goal to chat , have fun, and reduce some anxiety at difficult time for us all are a common basic need for j.c. chatters.
Hopefully those so against this change and voiced concerns can come together. Together find a common ground.

You aren’t adressing the issue, which is the double standards.
If some people are abused, sudden and huge changes have to be made and a whole class of users has to be banned even the ones that are innocent. If other people are abused then they are called a drama queen and need to grow up.
I don’t know why I have to keep repeating this, but either abuse is acceptable, or it is not. It doesn’t matter who is abused or who is sending the abuse, you can’t have different standards for different people.
If I am a drama queen and should be ignored, then so is everyone that complained about guests. Therefore guests should be allowed back into the chat.
