The Starfish Story
One day a man was walking along the beach, when he noticed a boy hurriedly picking up and gently throwing things into the ocean.Approaching the boy, he asked, “young man, what are you doing?”
The boy replied, “throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”
The man laughed to himself and said “Don’t you realise there is miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make any difference!”
After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish , and threw it into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said,
“I made a difference to that one”

it reminds me of chairtys, I mean I dont think common people should give to chairtys, but as they do u just have to hope the kind people get then as not all chairtys are good, but I ? why are the mill bill £££ not letting go of more of there cash, it is a joke they will die still rich, the unfairness in this world is a big prob.
I love this story……to many, one Starfish being thrown back wasn’t a lot but to the Starfish being thrown back….it was every thing….there are a lot of messages in this story,fable or simple truth if you want……the one i pick out the most is that….what sort of person are you? Do you do what you can as a principle or give up when it seems to be a waste of time?
Problem is just…….not all charity goes to charity…….that’s why many are dubious of giving these days…..
I personally believe that if a person really cares about what they are doing…they will keep doing it regardless of any other influences…….that’s a principle in action….

In fact…a lot of starfish probably died…..so to the ones that were thrown back…..well it’s arguable that sea life, animals ,insects and birds grasp a reason to be grateful as do they under stand the term?…..but the point is…..they go on to fight another day……
Don’t get me wrong….that’s not survival of the fittest…..after all…you don’t have to be very fit to pick up a starfish and throw it back in the ocean…….but in all honestly…..it’s still a great thing to do……
It’s like beached whales etc…….many go to great lengths to get them back in the ocean….i mean…why bother?……..well one only really bothers if one cares…..
