You may remember that the BNP councillors in Barking & Dagenham are having one or two problems with their personal debts. (See https://www.justchat.co.uk/boards/viewtopic.php?t=11780&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 to refresh your memories).
Well is now seems that the fragrant Sandra Doncaster and her daughter Claire plan to stand down as elected Councillors before Sandra’s Bankruptcy hearing at Romford County Court on the 11th January 2007.
As you all know this hearing has been occasioned by the fact that Sandra owes £2,170.34 in Council Tax.
Why she hasn’t paid is a bit of a mystery as she and her husband Thomas are not short of assets.
They own a coach company called ” Casters” (here’s the link Emma to save you screaming ”prove it” http://www.theclairemonthotel.net/ )and they also own the 18 room Clairemont Hotel at Sandown on the Isle of Wight.
Oh and BTW just for reader’s edification, Richard Barnbrook is shortly to announce himself a candidate for London Mayor. I wonder if he will use his correct address this time???

Very interesting PB, according to Emma anyone who doesn’t pay their taxes is no use to their family or society and should be put inside and made to pay for the pleasure. If they can’t pay their assets should be sold.
I wonder if She’ll change her mind yet again!

Becarefull what you post PB, if you are wrong, and they get bad left wingers attacking them…and you do not know if Sandra has suitable assets. They might be doing exceptionally bad buisness. The hotel might be in a shocking state, unsellable maybe, and the coaches might be in a bad way, you only have a website which may have been put up moons ago. Email them?
In which case jolly, it would seem like a reasonable excuse for not paying one’s council tax/rent. If they indeed have the money, it should be paid, if they dont pay, then they should be locked up, their property sold at auction, and used to fund their stay, dont see why we should.

I can’t be arsed to find and post the links, but check out the address on the website for Sandra’s hubby’s coach company with her address as per the Council’s list of candidates for the election.
It is quite interesting that The Clairemont Hotel in Sandown, Isle of Wight doesn’t seem to be mentioned in any of the tourist information sites relating to the island. I wonder why that should be???
Of course Emma isn’t suggesting that the Doncaster’s would dream of running a coach company with coaches that “might be in a bad way” because she knows that this would be against the law and they would never do anything so illegal ……. would they???
BTW – the Council is most helpful in that it even has a page where the public can post complaints against elected Councillors who they feel may have breached the Code of Conduct that all Councillors are supposed to adhere to. see local democracy in action here >>> http://www.standardsboard.co.uk/Complaintsandinvestigations/Whatyoucancomplainabout/

Is it the case, that if Sandra’s hubby owns the coach company, that A, she can sell it to fund her council tax/rent debt, and B, is it worth anything like enough, and C, is it opperational?

How do you know Richard Barnbrook is standing for Mayor? Are you secretly BNP, thats how you know, is it just an educated guess, as he got 16.9% in the last general election?

This is a link to the Gazette where all notices about forthcoming insolvencies are posted before the Court hearing. If your so keen, you dig around and find it.
