Yes, they’re a bunch of riff raff, and she’s had about 400 kids to 100 different Dad’s, but the Psychological damage that’s been done the past couple of months to her must be intense.

The fact that Shannon was, thankfully, found alive was an alarming fact in itself. The fact that the stepfathers family are now implicated in her dissapearance allied to the the vast publicity involved in the McCann case would lead me to guess that this was originally an attempt to cash in, and family members have certainly been doing that already by selling stories to the media even while the hunt was going on.
There has been a concensus on these boards that there must be more to come out of this whole sorry saga and it looks like most of us were right. What a sad sad indictment on our society this bloody mess is – there are implications here that go beyond pathetic, greedy uneducated folk dependant on welfare.
It could be that you’ve hit the nail on the head toybulldog. Maybe the entire thing was faked in order to make some money. The Media as well as the more gullible members of the public will always shell out loads of money if you tug their heart strings hard enough.
It’s interesting that the “Uncle” and his mother & sister (I think that’s the relationship anyway) are all now arrested – but Shannon’s natural mother hasn’t been.
It implies that the feckless “Uncle” etc set up a plot to abduct Shannon in order to do a McCann and make millions out of it…. but maybe – just maybe – the mother wasn’t in on it. Only her paedophile boyfriend and his chavvy family.
However, and if so, they wern’t as clever as the McCanns and got caught.
BTW – strange that Shannon’s natural father doesn’t seem to have any say in all this??? Do you suppose that Shannon’s mother really knows who the father is?
Maybe his name is Mr F W Woolworth because that was the name of the shop in whose doorway Shannon was conceived.
McCann’s didnt make a penny out of it. All of the money went to the Find Maddie Fund.

No it didn,t BM. If you remember they made at least two payments on their mortgage out of the find Maddie fund. Apparantly they are going to return to Portugal soon. I wonder if they will answer all the questions they refused to answer before whilst they are there?
i still think that the uncle and now possibly his family may have done it to bring the fact to light hat step daddy was a soon to be abuser, perhaps is brother found out and theytook her for her own safety. i know its a crazy wayto doit, but none of them are exactly brigh buttons are they ? we will soon know though i suppose.we have to take into consideration that shannon was no harmed or abused whilst with her uncle. but she may have been if they had left her with her step dad.

..and on that logic, wouldnt they have “kidnapped” all of her children, or were they leaving him a few at home to play with?? and, we dont know that she wasnt abused whilst with her uncle do we? It wouldnt be the first time women have aided a paedo.
The money making scam sounds more likely.
