The plot thickens even more…..
Oh dear.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/bradford/7331107.stm
Nothing to do with the images the step dad had on the comp but aiding kidnap and perverting the course of justice.
*sigh* I feel its not the end. Far from it.

she will hopefully be adopted by someone who will show her a better pathI’m sighing because i want an end to it..isn’t it sad to hear more family members are involved?
If they had caught the guy, banged him up and thats that then fine… they got the guy.
But it’s awful to hear he wasn’t the only one… her family are involved. Its dragging on. Not what’s best for the child.
They will put the child into care anyway… end.
Plonker.
4 April, 2008 at 6:01 pm #322546Doa you really are a prize imbecile. To say that a parent changing a nappy or giving their child a hug could be construed as child po.rn is pathetic. Your views on this subject are becoming more and more unnerving. You seem to find the idea of of people possessing these images as nothing to be concerned over. I dread to think what would be uncovered should the police ever decide to confiscate your computer.
The step father may appear thick as you say, but i fail to see how this excuses the fact that he is a paedophile, whether he has actively taken part in abuse or viewed the images which were taken of children being abused. Even the thickest of people know this is wrong.
4 April, 2008 at 6:04 pm #322547Christ !!! This just gets more and more convoluted eh?
So the implication is that Shannon’s “Uncle” was assisted by his mother and her sister (have i got the assorted relationships right?) somehow in holding Shannon as a prisoner in the “Uncle’s” flat?
Shannon’s mother has had her children taken into care. Shannon’s stepfather has been arrested and charged with offences involving child porn.
Is there ANYTHING else that this lot could have done ffs????? The entire thing is just utterly unbelievable.
4 April, 2008 at 6:11 pm #322548At least now those that never understood can see now just why she was kept away from the family for such a long time…. its such a messy web, the police must have had a tough job untangling it all, but it looks like the process is coming together for them, and they will soon have all the evidence they need to charge who needs to be charged.
Isnt it November the trial is set for? Gives loads of time for even more evidence to be discovered.

Yes but let’s not go down the path of how much you’d like to kill them or mutilate them please. The fact is that reasonable law abiding people wouldn’t ACTUALLY do these things – threaten them (in the manner of a semi-literate Sun reader) maybe…. but not ACTUALLY carry out the threats in cold blood.
The objective surely must be to prevent them from doing their terrible acts ever again. The problem for me is that I simply do not understand WHY they do these things in the first place – so devising a prevention strategy is a problem.
Is permanent imprisonment an answer? I don’t know. You can cold bloodedly murder somebody in the most awful way and still only get ”life imprisonment” (i.e. 14 years or so). Is this a ”worse” crime than downloading indecent images of children?
Take an extreme case:
Now I actually knew this guy a few years back – met him at a dinner party through a mutual friend – and never once did I suspect that he could or would do this sort of thing. But there you see it – paedophilia of the most terrible and horrible sort …. done whilst he was in a position of trust.
OK he is currently remanded in custody awaiting sentencing – but how long inside do you give him and will it prevent him from carrying on as before? Fact is that I really don’t know. All I hope is that he is imprisoned for the rest of his natural life – but somehow i don’t think he will be.
now the Courts want him to be psychologically examined:

Hmmmmm !!!
Castration is one way of ensuring their lack of ability to harm these kids in some ways.
And usually a standard prison amongst other prisoners would be enough to remove most child abusers, so maybe thats the answer, let em lose in prison.
But whatever happens i repeat again what others have also said to watch this kind of filth u are condoning it happening, in my mind that is as bad as actually doing it.4 April, 2008 at 7:56 pm #322550@(f)politics? wrote:

You are absolutely and totally correct in saying this. So many people try to excuse child porography by suggesting that just looking at these pictures isn’t doing any harm. But I guess that there will always be those who try to find excuses for other people’s appalling behaviour rather than face up to and challenge it.
Thank God the law punishes those who look at this stuff nearly as severely as those who make it.
4 April, 2008 at 10:13 pm #322551Well Pebbles this whole story smells fishyer than cath55 knicks.
There is something wrong with this case, from beginning to end its been a Salem witch hunt.
The missing girl was not abused
None of the other kids in the family have been abused
But still social services have been busy taking kids into care, were their at more risk from long term paedophiles than at home.
So someone better tell me what is really going on here.
Do we fear paedophiles we are now seeing them everywhere?
Are we going to burn all art work from the 8-20 centurys dew to the fact they contain “indecent images of children”?
Is it time to cover up any pictures of the baby Jesus because he is naked or being kissed by a man?
Is it ok for a picture of naked child being chain up and draged in a church, but not being view on a web site?
The law makes no differents between them, a picture of a naked child is a picture of a naked child.
Most of you need to have a good long look at some of your kids pictures, most could be classed has “indecent inages of children” by the police and courts.
Now back to the car crash, more children are killed or hurt on the roads than by paedophiles, but most people think speeding is ok.
So what is worst? A child being abused for 10 years by a paedophile or a speeding car putting a child in a wheel chair for life?
