Ok an easier one for you… even I got this one
Three robbers robbed a store. Once they came out they were totally changed, but they still continued robbing. Why?

Paul is 20 years old in 1980, but only 15 years old in 1985. How is this possible?
I thought OK… simply not possible till I read the answer….simple :D

Jen, I understand that response.
I think you were clearest by saying that a linguisitic confusion was masquerading as an arithmetic confusion.
But like Eve, I belong to that large group of people whose head hurts when it comes to math. And my guess is that people such as yourself who think quicky about numbers are not good at recognising how dumb the rest of us are lol
at junior school, I was always getting confused by these IQ questions. When we were all asked that if 3 men took 2 days to build a ditch, how many days would it take 2 men, or something like that, I immediately thought of the men building a hole in our street’s road. I wondered whether one of them may be slower if he was having worries about his family, etc etc. As it was a speed test, I failed.

Oh that made me laugh!
To the contrary Mr SG, I have dyscalculia, the number equivalent of dyslexia, and numbers are often a blank spot for me as my accountant has quickly realised! I have to really think about a poser like that, as I did the first time I read it around 5 years ago. What I lack in numerical ability I had to make up for by applying logic and where that failed, just sheer gut instinct.
