Wanted to make a comment following statements concerning the grandmother and the dog – i understand it isnt really the topic on this page right now but was brought up during conversations about the mccanns and “blame”.

No, the grandmother did not train the dog to eat children or order it to attack however, she was fully aware of the dogs potential to harm as he had previously not only attacked the victims aunty but he had also savaged another dog. :? :!:

How then can you not say she is partly to blame for the attack on her granddaughter which culminated in said childs death :!: :!: :?:   :?

Back to the subject in question, in my opinion, the McCanns should at least face charges of negligence – they left three children alone to eat with friends in a country that is totally family orientated – their financial situation was such that there was absolutely no reason to not take advantage of the childcare service available to them. I very much doubt they would have left their children alone in England to visit an eating establishment so why on earth would they do so in an alien country. :?: :? :?

I am a single parent – I would never dream of leaving my children alone to go out with friends – had that have been the case I would have now have had my remaining children taken into care and be facing a jail sentence for negligence :!: :!:

    A last minute thought …… I am sweetass’ mate :!: :P :P

If that was directed at me would you care to show where I said she WASNT to blame? My point in reference to that analogous comparison being used to show “difference” was the same one you just made, that in each case the people WERE directly responsible for at least contributing to the death even if they didnt actively take part in the killing, each facilitated the action taking place by their negligence and stupidity

I dont think nobody can deny they set the wheels in motion for this crime, agree Mary.

We have to remember this is only so the Police can ask more questions of them that they cannot ask if they are not suspects.

And… even if they did use the paid for services they only pop their heads in every now and then to make sure the kids are alright.

i remember reading up when I was dreaming about going abroad a few years ago about the services on offer and that was one of them. I thought why? Your children are your family so you do everything on a family holiday as a family.

I have lovely memories of mine when they were younger, falling asleep on chairs pushed together when they had enough of the entertainment on the holiday park club. Other parents loads of them in the same boat, enjoying themselves chatting to each other and all our children by our sides safe.

A family holiday to me is just that. It does exactly what it says on the tin.

As i said Dude nothings set in stone. These people are only witnesses, suspected of a crime. They havent been charged yet, and even if they have they are innocent until proven guilty.
We are a Democracy after all.

this only a small part of the interview earlier 2nite on ITV News…
    Kate’s parents: ‘She’s being framed’
Kate McCann’s parents speak of their fears that she is being framed over her own daughter’s disappearance.

They were expecting the family home soon, but now they are coping with the knowledge that their daughter is a suspect.

Mrs McCann’s mother Susan Healy claimed: “It’s corrupt evidence, it has been planted by another source and we are very anxious because of that.”

After speaking to her today she said: “Kate sounded reasonable calm but she’s obviously very, very anxious.”

    absolutely totally 100% agree.

Why did they announce a month ago they had made “significant findings”?

    Its a farce this investigation.

Yes BM … perhaps it is a bit early to say “told you so” and yes they are innocent until proven guilty.

However, when all were initially taking the view that the McCanns were the innocent victims of a heinous crime and posting messages expressing their sympathy, I chose the alternative view that they were far more involved in the ‘disappearance’ of Maddie than they were at first saying.

Fortunately (for me) there were a few that very quietly agreed with this view so I didn’t get the usual beating that one expects when failing to publicly grieve for a stranger. It now seems that (at last) both the police and the world’s Media have come round to this same view.

Every time that anybody (police, Media etc etc) tried to even hint at the McCann’s personal responsibility for Maddie’s demise, they immediatly went into full damage limitation mode and issued reams of press releases demanding that the Media focus remained on the search for Maddie.

Looking back on this, it seems clear to me (and others) that they were desperate to prevent their part in all this being questioned. Given the current situation when both of them are now declared formal suspects, you can see how clever their strategy was …. it terms of deflecting attention away from their own alleged involvement.

Do you suppose that their proposed libel action against the Portuguese press will now go ahead???? It’s going to be pretty difficult for them to win, against the background of suspicion about their guilt.
