Did you know that people come from the middle east and egypt just to have transplants here?
I say no, i don’t know. Can you show me where i can see evidence of this ? You reply that it is because you have observerd this. Don’t waste my time.

and hope and pray that it never happens to usIf they got a job they wouldn’t be homeless.
How the fk do they get a job in an economic climate where work is almost non existant!

So a person’s observations of facts based on real life experience don’t count?
If I have a cream cake in front of me, it is there, I can see it, so can others, the fact that you cannot see it doesn’t meant that it does not exist. Minim observes people coming from elsewhere, she sees it, others see it, but hey, you can’t see it but guess what? It still goes on.
As for wasting your time, it seems you have plenty to waste – careful that you don’t look back one day and wonder where it all went, what it was all for.

All the time I see evidence that people come to this country to abuse our benefit system and to make use of the NHS.
I say ~
What evidence ? All the time you see what ? People with signs telling of their business ? Their medical history, prognosis and treatment? The cost to them ? whether there is any special relations between the two countries involved ?

Yes and ?

Now there has to be something wrong when people who don’t live in this country and can hardly speak the language can come here and be offered expensive life saving treatment and not have to pay a thing, including not having had to pay national insurance contributions for a finite period of time.
I say ~
You can observe all this yet you cannot give us the source of this information. Do you speak to them all to distinguish their English literary ability; can you explain how you know they pay not a thing? NI contributions for a finite period of time? How on earth do you know this to be factual?

They get in through the back door using the loopholes you mention. And although I don’t begrudge someone life saving operations, I do wonder how on earth they can qualify for NHS treatment.
I say ~
LMAO FFS . . . Who? What loopholes? Who qualifies for NHS treatment? Tell me! You do report this don’t you ?

And…..making use of the system is all well and good for those that have the mental agility and knowledge to do so, but it does mean that the systems are stretched too tightly and those that are less able to manipulate the systems are abandoned.

You mean the people that take time to discover their “ rights “ and those who do not, and those less fortunate that the authorities wouldn’t dream of educating them their “ rights “to what they are truly entitled. For instance, try if you will and discover the amount of unclaimed benefits in this country where the authorities are aware of the person’s right to claim but remain silent.

On the contrary, debunking scaremongering non-sense is no waste at all, in fact every second counts. I am well aware of the mechanics of time. Unlike some i could mention.
25 December, 2010 at 12:05 am #457709My daughter had a carol concert a few days ago, in a church, the collection plate was passed round after a long speech about how the homeless were out in the snow, how our town had a soup kitchen for the poor souls, so dig deep, this is what our money can do, how a friendly face means as much to the homeless as food and warmth…….
the only thing i kept thinking was..
open the church doors then, at least its a roof over their heads, and dry, and safe, but no, our churches are locked while we sit and pray and dig deep in our pockets!
And Tom, as for the getting a job, get real! No home, you ever tried getting a job with no address, no bank account? You want to change Britian, then rescue our homeless, our drug addicts, our abused, our fallen and forgotten, do that and maybe we`ll all start caring again instead of hiding in our comfort condemning without thought.

We surely should all bear a thought for those less fortunate than ourselves, whether because they are struggling or because they are apart from their loved ones. Some people do not help themselves, some cannot, some are helped to hell by their fellow human beings. Of course some people cheat to get paltry benefits and some people do not work through choice. Most however do not and many do not even get the basic help to which they are entitled.
Losing everything is just too easy. (Thanks so much for sharing such personal experiences Cath.) Having everything should not therefore make us smug.
The little most of us do is never enough. Feel a bit guilty that my complete contribution this Christmas has been to buy the Big Issue. Instead of moaning about people being undeserving, I just hope that I can do my best to spread a message of love and peace on this day of all days. It never hurts, whatever your religious or other beliefs.
Best wishes to you and all you love at Christmas. Hope you have a peaceful, safe and loving Christmas, whoever or wherever you are.
26 December, 2010 at 2:23 pm #457711I think we need to do more than just spare a thought. What difference does that do except ease our conciounse for 10 seconds or so. And how many of us actually did spare a thought whilst stuffing our gobs…..I’m afraid I didn’t, shamed to say.
Dig deep into your pockets and spare if you can, or donate blankets or even take food.
It’s amazing that in this country of ours homelessness exists!26 December, 2010 at 5:25 pm #457712@gazlan wrote:

he said, she said blah blah
I am the source of the information, through personal experience due to my line of work.
Go suck on a Christmas tree :)
