Breathtaking choices, Sgt. of different intakes and for different reasons.
Only an aumaton would remain unmoved by both the Beethoven and the Gorecki, or fail to weep lengthily at the latter.

And can’t leave out my favourite bit from Mozart’s Requiem Mass:

Firstly.. a link to mozart and salieri writing the Confutatis part (which I love) from the film Amadeus. Salieri was jealous of Mozart, but loved his work….he helped Mozart write it all down as Mozart was dying….a cruel irony of fate.

    Confutatis

then a good recording of it

    Confutatis Maledictis

    Passionate stuff.

agreed on both counts… I hadn’t heard the Gorecki before, sorrowful indeed.

I was taught how to make sure you played the right amount of notes by singing…..go and wash your knickers in the bath, in the bath in the bath, oh go and wash your knickers in the bath in the bath in the bath

it worked most of the time :)

    Albinoni’s Adagio in G Minor

I did find some stuffed shirts waving sticks around, but thought this was more serene as a backdrop to the sound.
