I started running my shower this morning, and the bloody water was cold. Gas boiler on the blink, so had to have a freezing cold shower to avoid being late for work. I made an appointment for the gas man to call, but they only do appointments for a whole morning, or a whole afternoon.
So I am sitting here waiting and thinking of that Monty Python sketch and wondering when and if he will get here in time for me to get back to work some time today!
I am also singing the song while I wait!
Why can’t British Gas offer a 2 hour slot say, instead of some time between 8 and 1 or 1 and 6? And another thing!
Well ok there is no other thing, but I am in grumpy git mode!
29 September, 2008 at 1:14 pm #376333Its the same here in Canada.. any time the phone guy needs to come round or oil etc….its an all day appt, cant give an exact or even approximate time anywhere from 8am to 5 pm, so we sit and wait around all day and they dont show untill 3 or later.
Even if you wernt grumpy before that is bound to make you.
29 September, 2008 at 1:16 pm #376334He’s just arrived and i had the youtube of a Gas Man Cometh playing really loudly. :D
He is now demolishing my kitchen!
C’est La Vie.
29 September, 2008 at 3:22 pm #376335The pump went on my boiler once and it was hard to find a whole day to take off for the 15 minutes work. This situation went on for months until I got tired of heating everything through my own rage, and eventually did something about it.
Sometimes I wonder how the world would turn if I wasn’t here.
29 September, 2008 at 5:07 pm #376336It would revolve, but not on its own axis. That may or may not be a good thing.
All is well now, I have a boiler that works, and a leak in a radiator fixed.
We would never know how good life can be without the little trials and tribulations that beset us to remind us.
29 September, 2008 at 5:44 pm #376337British Gas are fekkin Murder.. They even charge for the phonecalls.. Keep you in a BIG queue, and when you finally get an answer, they talk shyte and refuse to help..
29 September, 2008 at 5:46 pm #376338A friend just tried to pay her gas bill on line with them. They took the payment twice and when she tried to sort it out it took her half an hour and the phone call cost her an arm and a leg!
This country is going to the dogs.
No offence toy.
29 September, 2008 at 5:49 pm #376339They have bad attitudes, and one w@ nker even got personal..
They go on, and on, and give you a ten minute speech, and when they’ve finished, you have forgotten what they have said, because it was so fcukin long..
They’re full of promises when they try and get you to sign up..
“Oh yeah, we’re cheaper than everyone else, we come out if you have problems, we promise to answer your calls quickly, you really can rely on us.”YEAH..

oh the same thing happened with me, except the payment went through 3 times and emptied my account, which resulted in some DD’s being knocked back, the swines!
29 September, 2008 at 7:18 pm #376341Eeeeerrrrrrr this feeels like work………..
Right you losers
First don’t use British Gas for repairs, they cost a small fortune and never do the job right.
Most boilers repairs are now covered by home contents policy’s, ( talk to your home contents insurance company about this first before making any repairs.)
For those of you who don’t have a policy, let me know your post code and I’d put you in touch with a local plumber who runs a servicing contract scheme in your area. (Prices start at £15 per month)
We all give you a 2 hour time window for the work and ring you 30 mins before they arrive. Most of us run an “out of hours” service so you don’t need to take the day off work.
