I know we’ve had lots of discussions on the pros and cons of the Euro and whether we should join, but this thread is not really about that.
What I’m wondering is to what extent the Euro is becoming an unofficial second currency in the UK. I live near Bath, which is a popular tourist destination and many shops, cafes etc. accept Euros. Is this the case in other tourist centres? What about London?
The “only” reason shops and cafe’s in England except Euro’s as a form of currency is because they make money on the exchange rates. Any excuse to make a few bob at the expense of the tourists.
