The second world war led to a new wave of post war feminism I totally agree.

you really are incapabale of grasping an argument, aren’t you?
look at my post again and you’ll see that I’m opposing that viewpoint.
6 November, 2016 at 1:21 pm #1007126Scep . you said “I do know that domestic violence (still mainly men against women, though a significant number of women against men) still takes place.” The last statistics I looked at it was 52% women are abused and 48% men so almost an equal split, seems the only thing that is true equality nowadays is abuse. and yet, as far as I am aware there is still only 1 Male refuge. some of the men I counselled had been very cruelly abused. its still far easier for a woman to admit it than a man
Laine,
thanks for the stats. Where are they from?
Men have traditionally been ashamed to report abuse, which can be very violent indeed. Women can have a refined sense of cruelty (verbal and physical) in my experience.
So despite all the changes in domestic relationships – and they have been dramatic in the last 50 years – are men and women still basically in problems?
Many men and women have definitely cracked it. They take into account the other, give way when needed, defend one another, try to make each other’s lives happier.
But the English male attitude – hostility to women and male bonding in the pub – may not have changed?
I’m asking, not telling.

Yes I really am “incapabale” of “grasping an argument”.
Actually I can happily debate all day long and enjoy a healthy debate just like the next person, but just not with online know it alls, who fling out the insults when it doesn’t go their way, hence their aggressive stance on this site.
Obviously “post war, ‘second wave’, feminism”, however it is described, is yet another subject in which you are a self proclaimed expert… Just like the EU referendum and every other subject that has been raised.

To sort this out once and for all I think you two need to have a glitterize off.
The winner is the first one to cover 50 percent of your opponents face in glitter and just in case either of you get too excited there is no attempted blocking of the airways and no eye prodding allowed. En garde

Indeed, or alternatively a catwalk which we can both mince along, doing our damned hardest to look all pouty! In a tight, figure hugging dress, high heels and a yellow feather boa.
