Instead of putting resources into giving freebies for drug users – which incidentally will increase the number of drug users in my opinion ; we should channel the money into a “drug busting” sas type force – with unlimited powers . Build some large “firing sqaud” walls – and gallows in every town . Anyone found pushing , selling dealing etc – would have the choice – firing squad -or gallows
You could always offer an alternative you know.
Since, as we have been told at great length on the other drugs thread, drugs are allright and don’t harm you and make you feel good etc etc – how about this. Every drug user or pusher/dealer should be made to consume/inject/snort the entire ‘stash’ of drugs found on them (or in their homes) there and then….. all of it.
If by some misfortune they happened to overdose….oh dear what bad luck. If it turned out that the drugs were of such bad quality or cut with rubbish and they poisoned themselves….. oh dear oh dear, sorry about that. I bet that would suddenly reduce the drug problem in this country.

You’re joking?
This bloody country can’t even give out cancer treatment to everyone who needs it, resulting in the ‘postcode lottery'(Herceptin is only one example)…so how is it going to be able to supply drugs to millions of addicts? I doubt a few less prisoners to pay for will provide enough revenue
I’d rather non-druggies received medicinal drugs that could prevent illness/save lives, and once the country gets that sorted THEN think about the self-inflicters.
But overall Owen…I do see what you are getting at :?
have to say I agree with Squeezy on this one :? next news the government will be offering me my beer money…….
now there’s a thought :-k

LOL i like your style :D
30 May, 2006 at 10:09 am #221475That would sure be a kick in the teeth for us people that are spending £40 minimum per month on the extortionate price of prescriptions, for medication that keeps us alive, and we cannot live without. The Country has deffo gone insane. Next we will be wiping their arses for them too ffs. These druggies made their choice to take drugs, us people that need vital meds have no choice. :(
11 August, 2006 at 9:38 pm #221476I just found this.
More proof if proof is needed, to show how badly prohibition is failing our society.11 August, 2006 at 9:41 pm #221477What do you mean “Prohibition”. The little nyaff’s are 11 and 12. They should be in their beds never mind dealing or taking drugs.
11 August, 2006 at 10:07 pm #221478my son who is nine came in the other night and said a boy up the road who is also nine asked him to go with him to smoke some weed….
he asked me what is weed, so i said well what did the boy say it was…. he pointed over to the field and said he picks it over there…
this kid apparantly has been trying to set fire to grass and sniff it. on further investigation it turns out this kid has heard his older teenage brother talking and thought he would copy him!!
ive done the drugs talk with both my boys. i also happen to know 5 really good friends from school who have been killed through direct use of drugs and sure dont want it happening to mine.
i have also seen the horror causd to others strangers and families through robbery, theiving off your loved ones just for another fix. im a smoker and a drinker but have never felt compelled to stoop to that level for a fix.
ive tried to give up smoking three times and it is hellish and i know docs do compare it to heroin. but the compulsion to get another fix by the ways and means of a herion addict are far more deep and physical than a smoker, there is no comparison.
there is an arguement for free drugs for addicts. not from boots lol, but from clinics. thats cutting out the dealers best customers therefore breaking the chain. weaning programmes could work.
have you seen somebody go into a program to give up? do you know how very few successful places there are…. its a lottery like life. and the follow up care also has to be very controlled too, a whole change of lifestyle is involved and support needed. this is where current programs fail.
i hate heroin and what it has done to my once beautiful friends, but see a need for controlled distribution in a controlled environment.

Tell that to the victims of acquisitive crime, and the Mothers/Fathers of drug addicts!
