I guess so far I’m in the minority here. I don’t believe in the Death Penalty as I am a Catholic and believe the “Thou Shalt Not Kill” rule. They only way I could are if my family or I was being attacked. Sooner or later everyone will die and that is when the judgment will be handed down. For all those who honestly deserve the Death Penalty, it’s going to be worse than any torture we could ever pass. I do believe that they should be locked up for life and any luxury they could hope for would be taken away. I know some of the prisons are way too nice for these people to spend their end of days in.
And how do your Catholic princles on the sanctity of life, equate to your support of the slaughter in Iraq. they didn’t attack you.
Oh I’m sorry – I didn’t realize I wondered into a post about Iraq.
:roll:Its not about Iraq, its merely an instance of your lack of principles.
No – That’s not it. I think you’d just like to discuss Iraq. Any honestly Tiler, you don’t even know me so how do you know what I do and don’t lack? I believe you lack the ability to stay on the subject
7 July, 2006 at 6:18 pm #228378Now that we can clone things, surely we can hang murderers but cut a bit of the body off and keep it in a jar (say a thumb or something). Then, if new evidence comes to light that proves they hanged the wrong person, they could simply clone the person back into existence and no damage has been done!
7 July, 2006 at 9:17 pm #228379Excellent idea James – the Arabs have a similar system. The amputate the hand of a thief and if he wins his appeal against conviction…. they sew it back on again.
Solves all the lilly livered Liberal’s problems about hanging an ”innocent” man so we can now hang all murderers etc etc with impunity.
7 July, 2006 at 9:22 pm #228380Well it just takes a bit of lateral thinking PB – the technology is all out there, we just have to work out how and where to use it. Would solve prison overcrowding too. I would imagine you could get a couple of hundred thumbs to each cell.
7 July, 2006 at 9:37 pm #228381This could be the saving of the economy – as well as Tony & The Blairites. All we need to do is to hold a mass slaughter of any prisoner with a sentence of say 2 years or more, store their thumbs somewhere cheap, and grow them again as clones when their sentence is over. Re-offending could be positively encouraged.
The savings to be made are simply enormous. All the prison warders and staff could be re-trained as Traffic Wardens so they would provide an additional income stream from parking fines which could be used to fund not only their salaries but also the cloning costs.
The more modern prisons near town centres could be turned into multi storey car parks relatively simply and the really old ones could become Store-U-Like domestic storage facilities and rented out to the public.
With the right management this whole thing could repay its initial capital investment and turn a profit in say 5 years. I feel a letter to The Prime Minister coming on……
Dear Arsehole…. sorry …I mean Tony,
My good friend Mr J Belfast and I have just had this fantastic idea that could not only save your political career, stuff that Scottish moron Brown, but could also dig that buffoon Prescott out of the shit into the bargain. How it works is as follows……………………………………………..
7 July, 2006 at 9:51 pm #228382I wouldn’t want to be help responisble for saving Tony Blair PB. Sorry, but you will either have to sell this idea to another party or go it alone. I don’t want it sold to the BNP either btw cos they will send all the coloured thumbs to Estonia or somewhere for storage. Hey, if they put all the various coloured thumbs in the one cell would they be called ”Dolly Mixtures”?
7 July, 2006 at 10:29 pm #228383…or even liquorice allsorts ????? (The West Indian ones could be called ”gobstoppers”)

I think that now we can prove, with DNA testing and suchlike, that someone who is guilty of a crime such as murder, rape etc should be put to death.
Why keep these evil and dangerous people alive at the tax payers expense?Evidence can be tampered with, especially in high profile crimes where the police are put under intense pressure to find a culprit.
No to the death penalty!
17 July, 2006 at 11:26 am #228385Bloody liberals !!!!
24 July, 2006 at 12:35 pm #228386As well as not being 100% convinced of a persons guilt in some cases, for some death is the easy option. For the likes of Rose West/ Hindley/Brady etc. they should be in one prison together – a proper lifers prison with no TV, papers, privacy etc. and left to rot.
There are plenty of people in prison for murder/manslaughter who acted completely out of character and in a moment of madness – self defence, battered wives/husbands etc. I don’t believe these people deserve the death penalty or such a hard time.
Rapists and paedos should have their dicks cut of and hung from their scrotums. death is far too easy or quick.
