It’s gonna be a long, long time before any War on Terrorism is won.

A short news piece appeared on the BBC website http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4778575.stm yesterday afternoon in which a mention is made of the Police tipping off the Muslim community:

“Police had spoken to a good number of community leaders to make them aware that a major operation was under way.”

This is an incredible statement for the police to make and shows how the Police place a greater emphasis on ensuring smooth relations with the Muslim community than relations with the non-Muslim majority.

Here we have British police, no doubt at a senior level talking to representatives of the very community from which these terror suspects emerge WHILE the operation is still under way.

This must raise a question over the loyalties and professional sensibilities of the senior security officials to their own staff and to the general travelling public. Every beat office, every investigator and every security agent places his or her own life firmly on the firing line whenever they go on duty. The twenty one terror suspects arrested were, according to police reports just a small element of a much larger group. How many individuals within the Muslim community have been alerted by their community representatives that a Police was underway and have now taken steps to avoid their apprehension? At any time were any police and other security officers placed at risk because of this blatant disclosure of information to smooth relations with the Muslim community?

Further it is important to note that there was no parallel “tipping off “ of the non-Muslim majority. Police could have alerted radio and tv stations in the early hours that British airports and international flights were the suspected targets of the religious fanatics and that those with travel plans on Thursday should stay away, partly to avoid the inconvenience and delay but more importantly to stay away from buildings and the infrastructure which may have been a target of the crazed bomb plotters. Muslim community leaders would undoubtedly have passed on the Police information to their family and friends. How many potential Muslim travelers were alerted by their community leaders and avoided the disruption and inconvenience of delayed and cancelled flights?

Why is there one set of rules for Police dealings with the Muslim community and another set for Police dealings with the non-Muslim majority?

Is it a case that the Police are happy to continue playing the role of “dhimmis” and act only with the cognisance and approval of Muslim community leaders?

Note: dhimmi – a non-believer (i.e. non Muslim) who is given permission to live and work under Muslim rule.

    Is this fair comment?

I must admit that although I have always been Pro-jew – I am starting to think they are being for to parochial in Lebanon and if it’s starting to sway me , then I’m sure a lot pf people are having 2nd thoughts
The BIG thing here is the NON-United Nations ; how the feck will anyone take them on board as a viable alternative to the USA when they are taking weeks to put an agreement on paper – while in the meantime 100’s if not 1000’s of innocent people are getting killed .
Which is my argument against the UN , by the time they decide to do anything it is invariably too late .

Most people think Israel is taking liberties, as usual. Just as the Security Council is reaching agreement on a resolution, Israel decides to launch a new ground invasion consisting of 30,000 troops. You might ask why agreement is taking so long and the answer is simple, American bias towards Israel. As always happens when Israel is being discussed at the security council, you can always rely on the USA to throw a spanner in the works. America behaves like this for its own domestic political reasons. It’s so difficult for the Security Council to do anything regarding the arab-israeli conflict when the USA is determined to veto anything that is critical about Israel or doesn’t lean towards the Israeli position. That’s why the world wanted an immediate ceasefire because they knew how long it would take to work on a long-term resolution.

The UN isn’t an alternative to the USA, it’s a body for global cooperation and it does a lot of good around the world (e.g. eradicating smallpox). You’d have to be a strange person to want a world that is ruled by the will of american politicians rather than by laws, treaties and other international agreements.

For anyone who says this isnt linked to Iraq. Ask yourself why it wasnt targeted on Germany or France or Holland. It’s got a lot to with our illegal invasion of Iraq.

Hmmm. I’ll try to more original in the future then.

What’s more worrying is that weve got British Citizens willing to commit mass murder on their fellow countrymen.
British people who convert to Islam are prepared to do the dirty work. It’s makes it tougher for the Police and intelligence services to monitor internal threats.

I’ve already said that radical Islam uses these injustices as a recruiting device. What I maintain, though, is that it is not only about that and is a much wider struggle. As evidence, I would cite the case of Bromley born Richard Reid who was caught trying to bring down a flight out of Paris’ Charles De Gaulle Airport on the 22nd of December, 2001 – fifteen months before the invasion of Iraq in March, 2003.

Terminus ante quem, my dear fellow.

As for the British people not having a choice at an election, of course they did. They weighed the issues of the day, as they always do, they could have voted Liberal or BNP or Respect or SNP* in their droves and brought down the government for the war, but they chose not to.

    * I omit the Conservative party since they too supported the Iraq war and as such would not have constituted an obvious anti-war vote.

Oh, by the way, there was also the Strasbourg cathedral bombing plot, bombings in France by a GIA unit, the hijacking of Air France Flight 8969 and the bombing campaign as far back as 1985 and ’86.

    #234632

That’s all good and well, Fester. You don’t seem to have anything to say about the issue in hand, though, eh?

We had no choice but to vote labour (@ Pikey), there was no alternative, it was a one horse race, the opposition was so weak there was nothing else for the British public to go for. However it doesn’t matter who is in charge, we still do not have a democratic choice about the direction our so called leaders take us in. Remember that Bush only became President because the judges in bro Jed’s state of Florida elected him, not the people.

And if it is the wish of Jihad to rule the world why do they target the USA and UK and not say Holland and Germany? Would it have anything to do with the western aggression from the aforementioned?

I answered your points with evidence, stalker boy. Though Ian Anderson only knows what all that irrelevant aside about GW was about. Now you try your old trick of squirming out with insults. France had nothing to do with the war and all the examples I quoted pre-dated the war. So what’s you retort? I present too much evidence? You’re laughable.

    #234634

I didn’t say you had no opinion. I said your opinion was in error and I presented evidence to show why I believed that to be the case. Then, as usual, you started with the insults. Pathetic.
