as far as im concerned of course they should but that brings us down to the government wanting us married, i,m married and very happily thank god. but many people are not and why should some be forced to stay married because they are a handy tax break… as used to be the case. it was quite difficult in the 1950s for women to be granted quick divorces as their husbands regarded their wives part of the goods, do we realy want to go back to that. ? and then where ?moetary insentives to stay child free. i wish

Divorce is becoming quite expensive now. When I first joined the court it was £60.00 to issue a petition.

    Its now £300!

I think a lot of couples probably do stay married (albeit live separately) because of the cost of it.

I always feel quite sad at some of the divorces that come in from couples who have been together for a long time, but then again you never know what they have put up with!
