taxation is relevant to how much you earn so basically will once again you are talking utter bohlocks
how could anyone be better off on the dole? surely its mind numbingly boring sitting in the house with no self esteem knowing you are a kept person? where’s the pride in that? Get a life, get an education and get a job i say… we are all born equal… its the path you take in life which dictates if you will be a worker or a shirker.

I am in a low paid job. I could do my nursing degree to improve my earnings but I have 2 kids to bring up & they are my priority thanks.I do however have a computer & internet connection that I pay for & have no objection to paying a tax should it be brought in.

ummm whats everyone paying for??? That would be the dole payments will, the nhs, your bins to be emptied, your streets cleaned, the police force, child tax credits, the fire service, disability allowance, single parents payments, anti terrorism squad, national defence, the army, the navy, the air force and a hell of a lot more… the money has to come from somewhere to pay ya dole.
my dole? i aint on da dole. but thanks for da laugh. i never said tax didnt cover all that did i. i jus merely say these muppet politicans take the pi55 with there expenses. fact. nobody can say they dnt. or are u happy for ur well earned dosh to go towards those muppets toilet seats, n loo roll etc.. thats wot one mp claimed from wot i can remember.
My apologies Will – I assumed that as you seem to be able to be on these forums 24/7 that you must be unemployed. :D
22 June, 2009 at 5:53 pm #399430Picking up on your point about the fags n sweets kenty.
We used to have a woman come into our branch each week. She had 4 kids, ranging from pushchair to toddler. She was on benefits, she’d buy her vodka her cigs and like you said, god forbid one of the kids should ask for a bag of crisps. The language to those little ones was unreal. Where do you think I got the f’ing money to pay for crisps,yr just f’ing selfish you lot! be thankful for what you got! which of course was nothing. I ended up giving these lil uns a pack of sweets each time cos I couldn’t bear to see their faces.
I’m on a kind of benefit Will. I get a pension, i’m an oap, I still work too, albeit part time. 50p a month isn’t really going to make that much difference to me. I can’t really see 50p a month making that much difference to anyone to be honest

23 June, 2009 at 5:55 pm #399433The Curious Case of Will Button (2008)
On the day that Hurricane Katrina hits New Orleans, elderly Daisy Williams (nee Fuller) is on her deathbed in a New Orleans hospital. At her side is her adult daughter, Caroline. Daisy asks Caroline to read to her aloud the diary of Daisy’s lifelong friend, Will Button. Will’s diary recounts his entire extraordinary life, the primary unusual aspect of which was his aging backwards, being diagnosed with several aging diseases at birth and thus given little chance of survival, but who does survive and gets younger with time. Abandoned by his biological father, Thomas Button, after Will’s biological mother died in childbirth, Will was raised by Queenie, a black woman and caregiver at a seniors home. Daisy’s grandmother was a resident at that home, which is where she first met Will. Although separated through the years, Daisy and Will remain in contact throughout their lives, reconnecting in their forties when in age they finally match up. Some of the revelations in Will’s diary are difficult for Caroline to read, especially as it relates to the time past this reconnection between Will and Daisy, when Daisy gets older and Will grows younger into his childhood years
