27 June, 2006 at 12:03 pm #228199personal responsibility ?
Are you people having a laught or wot?
Most of you could not feed and cloth yourselfs with out the states help.
You all moan on about being unhappy or poor, but the truth of the matter is you all have pi ss poor judgement.
Lets just face it, you do what your silly firends tell you to do, after all, no body likes to be seen has an “outsider”
My farther told me long ago, the biggest problem the working class had was: the fact that they “keep’t stabing each other in the back”
Its true, you do!
So would you realy like to take “personal responsibility “
Ok why not stop getting free health care from the govement, stop moaning on about your old age pension or the lack of it.
And just start paying your way.
Or I am asking for too much again?

Yes it does rather doesn’t it? I was about to switch into full rant mode and berate all Local Authorities for being total bastards and wholly support this very principled lady for witholding her Council Tax….. when I thought ”Hold on a mo” you can’t just pick & choose what laws you will or will not obey for therein lies the road to anarchy.
So now I am trapped by my utter dislike of petty Local Authority bureaucrats on the one hand and my natural instinct to uphold the rule of law on the other. Hmmmmm !!!
I guess I’ll have to admit to being hoist with my own petard on this one.
27 June, 2006 at 5:49 pm #228203What the feck are Council Tax Posts doing in this thread !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will somebody PLEASE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY !!!!!!!!!!!!

Judging by your appalling standard of English, it looks like you turned down the opportunity to get a free education provided by the state. So social provisions provided by the state are a good thing.
27 June, 2006 at 10:53 pm #228206Some people will always lay the blame for their own shortcomings at the door of someone or something else
I do agree that we live in a society that has learned not to take full responsilbility for its own actions. In some ways society is so liberal that it lets this happen.
While I’m all for liberalism I do believe that each person is or should be responsible for their own actions as long as they are of sane mind.
Recently I have had a change of heart about a certain issue that outlines my point. There is an ongoing campaign for the law to be changed around paedophilia (forgive me if I’m repeating something off another thread). I have always been against naming and shaming as I have always seen it as a mental illness. Lately I have thought however that the person had a choice to either not commit or to commit the offence, the child however didn’t get that choice. Paedophiles need to take personal responsibilty and not commit offences on children purely because they get an urge. I don’t mean to open up a can of worms with this statement, I was purely using it as an example.
27 June, 2006 at 11:34 pm #228207I’m taking personal responsibility for the fact that I just polished off the rest of my bailey’s haagen daz :P
