    The history of synthpop:
In 1968 the first synthesizer only record was released, “Switched On Bach” with Wendy Carlos. It was music of Bach played on a Moog synthesizer.
In Germany the experimental band Organisation was formed in 1968. They changed their name to Kraftwerk in 1970. At this time they played a disharmonious, but innovative music based upon synthesizers. They released three albums in Germany in the first years of the 1970s. Their music was getting more rhythmical and easier to understand. In 1974 they released their international debut “Autobahn”, which was kind of a breakthrough. It’s a twenty minutes long car drive accompanied by synthesizers and sound effects. They continued to make this kind of music and they have released seven albums since then.

I went with a friend to see this band in Glasgow way back when.
I kept nipping out to the bar for rum and coke then out at the back of the concert halls for a toke..and was found slumped fast asleep in my seat after the concert ended..ha ha.
The fault was probably on my part and not The Tange’s but they were incredibly hypnotic.

    Strangelove

    Strangelove
    Strange highs and strange lows
    Strangelove
    That’s how my love goes
    Strangelove
Will you give it to me
    Will you take the pain
    I will give to you
    Again and again
    And will you return it

    There’ll be times
    When my crimes
    Will seem almost unforgivable
    I give in to sin
Because you have to make this life liveable
But when you think I’ve had enough
    From your sea of love
I’ll take more than another riverful
Yes and I’ll make it all worthwhile
    I’ll make your heart smile

    Strangelove
    Strange highs and strange lows
    Strangelove
    That’s how my love goes
    Strangelove
Will you give it to me
    Will you take the pain
    I will give to you
    Again and again
    And will you return it

    There’ll be days
    When I’ll stray
    I may appear to be
    Constantly out of reach
    I give in to sin
Because I like to practice what I preach
    I’m not trying to say
I’ll have it all my way
    I’m always willing to learn
When you’ve got something to teach
O and I’ll make it all worthwhile
    I’ll make your heart smile

    Pain
    Will you return it
    I’ll say it again
    Pain

    Pain
    Will you return it
    I’ll say it again
    Pain

    Pain
    Will you return it
    I’ll say it again
    Pain

    Pain
    Will you return it
    I won’t say it again

    Strangelove
    Strange highs and strange lows
    Strangelove
    That’s how my love goes
    Strangelove
Will you give it to me
    Strangelove
    Strange highs and strange lows
    Strangelove
    That’s how my love goes
    Strangelove
Will you give it to me …
