was just musing over somers thread
and he got told about the auld censorship but hes a newb on boards i accept he didnt know
but the intent was still there with all his effin and jeffin
i was cringing for him but he knows now so there you goanyway what is everybodys thoughts about censorship
i feel its a good thing because if the powers that be let everybody run amok with swearing it would just degenerate into farcical proportionsok yes course we are all adults and we all know swear words
im a professional writer, see you didnt know that did you?
and when i write yes of course i use swear words, but only if the cap fits the tale
gratuitous swearing for me is a no no,im a well established mod on blue moon
and swearing in a title thread is a bannable offence
yet trapper has to prove you can swear, all hes done what we well not the majority you dont know how he does it but i certainly do,just like i can photo shop do gifs, distort faces etc its easy if you know how but its trappers floor its his baby i wont usurp himto me swearing shows you have a lack of vocabulary
and there really is no need for it,if you are intelligent there are lots of words you can substitute
has anybody got any more thoughts to add to this?
i know some smart alec is going to reply %%%% off you %%%%
but that will just prove my point and show them up for what they are
ty.16 September, 2015 at 4:19 pm #528872Aww c’mon rogue we all do it .
Mostly in jest but , you’re right there are a few that swear every other word. We all know who they are .
I think its hilarious in some cases when the ole JC censorship kicks in.
“kicked him up the arse” always amuses me & says it beautifully
Now be a good chap & foxtrot Oscar & stop moaning. Your spelling is good but your grammar is terrible for a writer .
16 September, 2015 at 4:29 pm #528873It’s utter rubbish that swearing shows a lack of vocabulary, neither does it exhibit a lack of intelligence.
Swearing at times punctuates just how frustrated one can feel about a particular issue.
I agree with Rainbow that much of the time swearing is used humorously, not with the intent to offend.
For me, I find the juvenile name calling much more offensive than the odd expletive.
