As many of you may well know by now, the unfortunate and untimely death of Superteddiesue was announced earlier on today.
Whilst, as a community we mourn her sad loss, and whilst we send our most heartfelt condolences to Sue’s family, some good has come from Teddy’s premature death.
I can say now that a donor card was found on Sue’s person – a donor card which subsequently, has given the gift of life and sight to many unfortunate teddy bears who otherwise would have died or spent the rest of their life in darkness.
Superteddiesue’s heart, lungs and liver have been donated to the Foxes Glacier Mint Bear who is suffering from multiple organ failure due to alcohol addiction. I can say the transplant has gone well and there is no sign that the organs have been rejected. We will keep you updated on Mr Glacier’s progress.
Being an old, traditional type of bear, we were able to use Teddie’s solid black glass eyes to give the gift of sight to Akawande, an aged African bear who has been unable to see for 600 years.
Now, thanks to Sue, Akawande can now see the 6000 generations of her family that she has known only by sound and smell.
Akawande said, ‘it is bad that Superteddiesue had to die so I can see but I am grateful to her for her kind generosity.’
Likewise, in one of the poorest parts of India, 500 year old brown bear, Sarbjit benefited from the gift of Sue’s black glass nose. Sarbjit however, was not so grateful, stating, ‘I have not smelt a thing for 450 years – I live in a slum – why you give me this nose?’
We will keep all other salvageable organs on ice for future transplants.

We found that too – the patients have now got free kebabs for life, plus sue’s thighs.
