I went to my father in laws house once and from the back bedroom i heard shuffling like someone was shuffling their feet. There was nobody in the room. When i told my hubby who was then my boyfriend about it, he said that was his grandfathers room and he had a bad habit of shuffling his feet when he walked and i had never met his grandfather or knew anything about him.

26 April, 2006 at 8:30 am #210683Haha oh dear I seemed to have started a debate here! And can I say that no-one can say ghosts, spirits or whatever do exist or dont exist, theres too much we dont know about and too many things happend that you cant explain, I’ve had so many experiences that cannot be explained away as nonsense. And whoever said aliens dont exist is just being ignorant and egotistic. Why out of the billions of planets should we be the only one inhabitated by some sort of lifeform. Fair enough I’m not saying theres little green men that visit us but there will be other forms of life out there.

Poltergeist’s almost always occur when a young girl or boy going though puberty is in the house.
Well, there was 4 of us at my mum’s house, and the only things that flw across the rooms was stuff e chucked at each other!
Mind you – I’d be scared witless if I started experiencing weird ‘ghostly’ things. My OH said he saw a little boy in our hallway one night – he thought it was our son, but he was in bed. I really wish he hadn’t told me.

I’d tend to agree with your mum too, if there is anything there and it’s not doing any harm, leave it be.
As for those of you who don’t beleive in ”ghosts”. In the off license where I used to work, a young girl was murdered there, yearssssss back, when the house stood in the middle of a field. She was killed and bricked into a wall. At various times, you could clearly hear the voice of a youngster, singing ring a ring a roses, it was usually coming from upstairs, if you started to go up the stairs, the singing would stop. I have to admit that it freaked me out a little at first, but I got used to it. One or two people said that they’d seen a young girls face at upstairs windows late at night, i’d never seen it myself though, but I did hear the singing.
On Monday Pete, my mum went into a residential home, only for 3 weeks while the council rip out her kitchen and put in a new one. It was a stressful day for all concerned, I got into my car on Monday evening to go home and as I pulled away I felt a definate pressure on my shoulder, as if someone was saying it’s ok. Iv’e always believed that my dads spirit is with me and always will. Iv’e been told many times by many people that there is a man, a frail looking man standing at your shoulder. Hocus Pocus to some, but it makes me feel better. He’s been dead by the way, for 33 years.

Having your old kitchen ripped out, place rewired etc., can be pretty stressful for the best of us Pefkos, but when your 94 you can do without all the noise and mess.I didn’t by the way mean the above, I meant the fact of her going into residential care while its done.
Hope that answers your question
