You could’ve got 16/1 on Manchester being “awarded” the chance to build a super casino.
According to a YouGov survey, conducted last week, 30 per cent of those questioned believed the new casinos were a “good idea”, helping to regenerate run-down areas and bring additional tax revenues to the Treasury.
A majority of people in all areas of the country feared the new casinos would result in more problem gambling. Thirty-two per cent said they would worsen the quality of life around casinos.
Fifty-six per cent of people interviewed believed the spread of casinos was a bad idea because it would increase problem gambling and worsen social problems such as crime, debt, loss of employment and family breakdown.
So you ask yourself, why is the elected government doing something against public opinion, money of course.
You see, it doesn’t matter what the electrate think, if you are as bad at spending the public purse as new labour are, any plan to generate funds on the backs of the public is greatly needed.
When are you going to vote for hard working people?

When am I going to vote for hard working people?????????
Maybe you mean when am I going to vote for a good political party.
All politicians are crooks out for their own ends, none of them (especially the bnp) are worth a vote.
So to answer your question Emma……………Never.
As for the super casino, I say good for manchester, let them have all the increased prostitution, drug problems organised crime that comes with a casino.
Northerners aren’t all that clever and it’s hundreds of miles from me so I don’t give a sh*t.

As for becoming an independant, maybe you got something Emma, there’s always some sucker willing to throw their money away.
31 January, 2007 at 12:13 pm #258199As a Lestonian, every other accent seems weird.
It costs 500 notes to stand, you get it back if you get 5% of the votes though. Hopefully you will take votes off the old gang, make them weaker.
