Thing is……to plants, vegetables and fruits….summer is always summer. They know when they want to come up and ripen etc. A lot depends on where your items are situated sun wise, and of course, watering is very important. I find personally……..that to be a good gardener, flower grower, fruit grower etc, one has to nurture one’s plants……..For example………..some one moaned to me the other day that i had better strawberries than them. I am not the slightest bit interested in competing with any one for the biggest , the best etc but my point is this…….If my strawberries were better (and they were bountiful and perfect shaped and just the right taste) then it comes down to the fact that i looked after them every day. Some people seem to think that because the packet says when to plant and when to pick/ harvest…that’s all there is to it.
The most important time for any plant, vegetable, fruits growth is between these two fixtures. This is where the real work comes in.
Many people say…….well the seasons aren’t what they used to be. That’s fair enough but if that’s the case…why do certain people always still get great results with their flowers, veg and fruits?
