This place makes you that way, there has been more deaths on here than the amount of deaths of British soldiers in Iraq!
15 June, 2008 at 10:12 am #348031A guy I know cyber-well on another site has terminal cancer. His parrots have been adopted by another member of the forum. He is too ill to contact the site anymore and has persuaded his partner (who is a non techy guy) to pass on ONE email to the moderator when the time comes so that we are aware and can leave condolences as one may wish. He did take some persuading however!
I have to say its a far nicer site than here, no cynicism, no lying, just people being themselves (its not hard, some of you should try it!).
We are’nt all the same.
I think all has been said on here and agree its probably time to move on.
Back to the insults, webcams, and general hatred everybody.
15 June, 2008 at 10:13 am #348032Then my cynical old heart is thoroughly withered. But seriously ….. so somebody phones somebody else to say “BTW did you know that ***** isn’t feeling too well today?”
They in turn phone somebody else and say “OMG – I’ve just heard that ****** is seriously ill” They in turn phone somebody else to say “OMG OMG “”” ****** is dying of cancer” (or whatever dread illness gets invented here).
Then that person MSN’s somebody else to say “OMG! OMG! OMG! ****** died yesterday – insn’t it awful”
Suddenly the entire Forum erupts into a frenzy of wailing and grieving and anybody that even dares to think about not “showing respect” is turned on and attacked by the mourners grievers.
…………and so another JustChat legend is born.
15 June, 2008 at 10:20 am #348033If a high proportion of internet users are folks who use the facility as a means of socialising when other means – owing to illness or disability – are closed to them, then it stands to reason that there are going to be a substantial number of deaths.
I would hope that if you ever find yourself breathing your last under the wheels of a runaway truck, Sian, the announcement of your demise on the JC boards isn’t met with the derision you seem to currently deem appropriate.
15 June, 2008 at 10:24 am #348034IF any of us were killed by a runaway truck i cant imagine that any of our family members would log onto these boards to tell everyone – i think they’d have better things to do.
15 June, 2008 at 10:36 am #348035Pedantic as ever, Pebbles.
15 June, 2008 at 10:38 am #348036Actually, I’m sure if certain members of JC WERE felled by one of Eddie Stobarts finest, then close relatives might rush to announce it so we could ALL CELEBRATE!

After reading, and feeling sad by this
thread that made me laugh… “Eddie Stobarts finest” :lol:15 June, 2008 at 10:44 am #348038I prefer it was a Palletways truck, more advertisment for the company I work for, might even get a day off work for it too
15 June, 2008 at 12:03 pm #348039Esmeralda’s post has given me food for thought. So …. here’s what I’ve decided to do.
The URL for JustChat and my user name and password have been wrtten down and placed in a sealed envelope. This is to be opened only when I am dead (a number 110 bus in the small of the back will probably be the undoing of me).
I’ve left clear instructions that my successors are to continue using JC in my name and NOT to tell anybody that I’m actually dead. They are to continue posting as if nothing at all has happened.
So if anybody notices a slight change in my style at some time in the future …. it means that I’m dead and it’s somebody else faking me…. OK?
One way you will be able to spot this is if you see me posting anything at all expressing sympathy for JC users that suddenly die of a severe debilitating illness but somehow manage to sign into the Forums (or Boards) to tell everybody about it the day before they snuff it.
