well its a shame you have to go sharon im also a bit dissapointed in the so called friends you made on this message board who seemed to of left you when you needed them!
as for the head in a crocs mouth? i think i was referring to him feeding an angry crocodile whilst holding a baby in his arms, it was in alot of papers!
i have read (only today) about his parents who started the australia zoo and i can do nothing but congratulate him on his and his families work with animals
i merely commented on his choice of lifestyle which was a tiny bit more risky than smoking a cigarette
res in peace steve i admire you for your work with animals and as a conservationist

Sorry I wasn’t here Sharon, I was watching Quiz Show on TV when you posted this.
Please reconsider. I’d like you to stay here, and I’m sure most JC users agree with me.5 September, 2006 at 4:58 am #240319@geoff wrote:

Couple of inaccuracies I have to pull you up on there young man.
Firstly he was feeding a crocodile whilst holding the baby, where you picked up the ‘angry’ bit is totally beyond me.
Secondly his parents were not the founders of Australia Zoo, Steve Irwin done that all by his lonesome. He took over his parents reptile zoo and turned it into what it is today.
I can understand the outcry from 2004 when he held his month old baby whilst feeding a croc but we don’t live in his world and to be honest cannot criticise what we do not know. He knew the risks and as I have already stated I am sure he spoke to his wife (Terri) on many occasions about any unfortunate eventuality. I am convinced she was 100% behind his lifestyle. I would rather see Steve Irwin risking life and limb for the preservation of our wildlife than seeing some drunken crack head pop star/actor getting the acclaim when he dies early from an o/d. I find it extremely hypocritical how people can moan and whinge about Steve Irwin without having the first idea about his life (of which I have no idea either) but instead of celebrating a great conservationist they slag him off in the early moments of his death. I’m ashamed of some of you, I really am.
never did like home and away, like so many program from the assie, crap, but stevey was ok
but a daft, man. who liked, the media, attention, to get it’ he took risk,,,,,,,,with crocs, and…..and met is match, with a harmless sting,,,, ray,I suppose if he had lived, he would have forgiven the sting ray, but he will be sadly miss by the crocs, an
other danderous animal, the grave yard full off hero’s……..

he didnt have his head in a crocks head token, so i dont know where your statement comes from “think of my children”…. he died in a freak accident….. 5 million to one.
so, give it all the talk after the bloke is dead, yeah, that makes you great does it?
for jesues sake, instead of replying to mine, start another thread!! and leave mine for people who want to talk of the good the guy did, and people will continue to do in his legacy.
there are loads of parrots that would be near extinct if it wasnt for his conservation of them, never mind the mammals/animals he has given new lives/ a new lease of life too.
please.
do not speak ill of the dead when they cannot speak themselves.
we are the only voice they have and its my pregrogative to ensure that this guy has it
(specially here it seems)
after this im gone
and im not sad about that atall

rest his soul in peace
(edit typos)
he was a good man shazza i used to watch his stuff usually uttering when he got himself into dangerous situation ‘is this bloke fecking mad??’ pmsl ……….. he was a good man and my heart goes out to his family and his young children, but shazza they will grow up knowing steve was a great man who cared passionately about the world xxxx
5 September, 2006 at 6:38 am #240323I watched a recent program about him where he turned his zoo into what it is today. It started out with just him and his best mate Wes. The zoo had around 300 employees. All hard work done by Steve Irwin and his wife and his best friend. He was passionate about his animals. He cared. It’s a shame that fellow human beings don’t show the same passion for each other.
Sharon, don’t go. Your opinion counts as much as anyone else’s on here.!! xxxx

rest in peace steve my thoughts are with your children and your family
5 September, 2006 at 2:46 pm #240325i was actually pretty saddened when i saw it on the news yesterday morning…how awful to leave 2 young kids and a wife that way ? she probably wasn’t too worried about him going in the sea, after all he was a complete bloody looney in the zoo wasn’t he !
my neighbours daughter made his family a card and had to look up the addy of his zoo on the net so she could send it, which i thought was so caring ( she’s only 6 bless her). The world will be a sadder place without the nutters enthusiasm and his total concern for our planets wildlife, if you ask me its a pity that there aren’t more like him. R.I.P Steve and thoughts go out to those left behind to pick up the pieces5 September, 2006 at 5:42 pm #240326In the words of the world famoue Steve Unwin…… ”CRIKEY’
