this should explain it
i thought my original post was quite helpful….before i got sidetracked by matt.
it explains what the various different registry entries are, what they do and why they are sometimes no longer required.
can’t get much clearer than that

14 January, 2007 at 12:18 pm #256129Im Having a simular problem with start up too Hermmy :x Once turned on I get a Time Computers Registration form up which wants filling out & sending off , Bareing in mind I did this when I first puchased to puter , This is happening again because Ive used the Re-load disk & started from scratch & since time computers has gone bust I cant ring them, Also if i fill out the registration form again it wont send because it says no Dialing tone & me thinks it has to be done on Dial up ( which aint happening ) . I have also tried the following , Start < search < then typed in *status* when the results appeard I had the chance to delete another one which i could see which was *supanet registration * I recognised this one because of the icon but cannot locate the time computer one even though i know it will be there somewhere , Im just a bit scared of deleting something I shouldnt , This Time computer registration has a lot to answer for when im starting up & I reckon is the main reason why its taking a good ten mins to sign in online .
Please feel free with any serious suggestions which i may try …………..?
Thanks :)
14 January, 2007 at 1:48 pm #256130Wish I could help Ugo m8, but my knowledge of computers is worse than a 5 yr olds! My PC is running quicker than ever now thanks to Smileys advice, oh and PATS advice.
I looked in tons of files on my PC and if i didnt recognise it or know what it was i just deleted it. I reckon u should be ok to delete the time registration form (if you can), but dont quote me on that! -
