LONDON (Reuters) – The Spice Girls on Friday announced they are to cut back their reunion tour “due to family and personal commitments.”
They cancelled concerts in China, South Africa, Australia and Argentina and the tour that reunited the “Girl Power” group in a blaze of publicity is to end in Toronto on February 26.
A spokesman said: “Sadly the tour needs to come to an end by the end of February due to family and personal commitments for Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria.

Translation: Ticket sales failed to match the hype for this tour. Projected sales aginst the cost of going ‘foreign’ would make the entire exercise unprofitable.

I used to be a huge Spice Girls fan when I was about 12, but even I agree that their time has been and is long gone. However I imagine they would still have a few die hard fans remaining even if they can’t top the charts like they once did.
If someone bought me a ticket I would have gone to see them, just for the laugh, it would be a great girly night out 8)
