just spent working on my speech for my mates wedding on sat

its looking good.. but i know i’ll mess it up come the day

but when you best man, do you have to comment much on the bride.. i just wanna spend 10 mins taking the p1ss from the groom :)

    is that how it works

and also at weddings.. not been to one for ages.. does the best man also have to read all the weddings and greating cards…. cause thats what my mum said

well that will take forever… and i am thinking… less time for getting drunk.. and enjoying the cheesy dance music at the disco

Yes, comment on the bride a bit, say how beautiful she looks, and say how lucky he is to have such a wonderful woman, etc……be nice to her

I have know cards to be read out – but not all of them!! Just a few funny ones or ones from people who couldn’t make the wedding.

Dont forget to mention how lovely the bridesmaids look Soulie

you can have a wee crack bout your friend, but not too much, also say how lovely the bride looks, read a few cards and toast the happy couple

And Soulie…don’t go on about what you all got up to on the stag night!!!

    Don’t even drop hints….

If it was my speech, I would say that you think that the groom and the bride are good together, and that they make a wonderful couple, say that the bride looks lovely and say how lucky they both are to find happiness and true love, as it is rare to find these days. Then crack a few jokes about what you and the groom got up to in the past (not the stag night though) and say how nice the bridesmaids look, and the mother of the bride.

I’m sh*t at speaking in public so Good Luck! I was trembling when I had to read at my sister’s wedding so I read this:
    Irish Marriage Blessing
May God Be With You And Bless You.
May you see your children’s children.
May you bee poor in misfortune,
    Rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness,
    From this day forward.
