I abhor all forms of cruelty to all animals and actively do something about it.

How about lambs being slaughtered at an abottoir?

Dunno about you but I’m a vegetarian and have been for 26 years so I think that answers your question.

    No it doesn’t.

Isn’t it cruel that lambs (ickle baby sheep) are murdered by having their throats slit?

And what are you actively doing to protest about it?

Yes it is cruel. What do I actively do? Lots of protest work which in the interests of my privacy I will not divulge on here.

Surely, promoting and publicising the kind of protests you’re involved with would gain you a wider audience. Isn’t that what it’s about..?

i’m sure you never use candles or wax crayons either panda..
back to topic, the farmer has got security cameras up now but not heard they’ve had any luck finding them yet unfortunately. There was a similar incidence beginning of the year with a beautiful friesian stallion, Report Here his genitals, an eye and teeth cut out and numerous slices over his body. i know its not good reading and a horrible subject, but if it lets people know just what people are out there and makes others aware, and be careful about looking out for their own animals, its worth bringing it up.

I actually agree with you on this. You’re quite right, I don’t use wax crayons, or candles. I’m far too old for the former and the latter were never used in my household even as a child. And I’m not religious and light candles in church.

I’m afraid animals are an easy target especially at night time.

I would assume that abstaining from eating and buying the object would be rebellion enough, supply and demand and all that ? !

I can do that quite well without using this place as a springboard.

True Roobes. There is also campaigning for changes in the law in terms of animal welfare.

the sad thing is that there are lots of youngsters out there who think animal cruelty is ok. Many cats have been tortured, and it isn’t a new thing…there were stories of cats having fireworks attached to their tails when I was young. I am pretty sure it will turn out to be teenage thugs who are responsible and I wonder if these events are connected. I hope they catch them.

If we are to keep pets, and animals in captivity it is up to us to make sure they are safe. The farmer in question obviously didn’t think he needed to protect his animals. But should all farmers bring all animals in for the night to protect them from people like this? I guess we may end up returning to the days where shepherds protect their flocks at night! Well okay, in this instance we are talking about cows and horses, but you get my gist.

A farmer’s son in the farm next door to my sister, killed all her angora goats with a rifle. He said they had wandered onto his land, but he was a teenager and my sister reckoned he was just having target practice. She lost eight goats that day, and was devastated. The father paid her for the eight goats, but that is hardly the point! She was left with one pregnant goat later gave birth to twins, she had been in a pen near the house as she was so heavily pregnant, so avoided the massacre. My sister won’t keep goats now!

my cat came home one day very tetchy and it wasn’t until he turned round I saw a nike tick on his side……….we couldn’t work out if his fur had been shaved or burnt off as the skin was somewhat red and inflamed ……..straight down the vet for treatment……he hates strangers now and growls for ages when unknown people are around.
