10 October, 2008 at 3:26 pm #377296“The best laid schemes o’ Mice an’ Men,
Gang aft agley,
An’ lea’e us nought but grief an’ pain,
For promis’d joy! “
(Rabbie Burns)And so it is. I avoid planning ahead where possible, mainly because I hate being tied down to anything, but also owing to my preference for impromptu gatherings, sudden decisions to take off to the sea or the mountains, or a jam with fiddles, guitars, mandolin, squeezebox and bodhran in our local bothy; I can spend an entire weekend in the Kelvinhall Art Galleries in Glasgow’s West End, or watching my hubby at rehearsals, or sit painting while he and his mates scale the Buachaille Etive Mor or maybe the Cuillin Ridge.
Then there’s the bikes..the thrill of bombing along through Rannoch Moor or hurtling down the treacherous old drover’s road.. Bealach nam Bo..towards Applecross.
So..yeah I love weekends..there’s a magical tinge to a Saturday sunrise..but like the sunshine I am as whimsically inconsistent..so if y’all wanna make plans for the weekend and they include me..make sure they’re flexible. :wink:10 October, 2008 at 4:04 pm #377297@bon bon wrote:
