well im a non-smoker…I have a very occassional fag if im really pi/ssed

Both mum and dad always smoked, so I’ve been around cigarette smoke all my life really. After I moved out, there were pubs of course, which were always heaving with smoke..and even at work, the smokers always hogged the entrance which meant I got a daily lungfull. Yet since the smoking ban, people cant hog the entrance at work anymore or smoke in pubs and I find myself really craving a cigarettes some times! Its weird. So after years of passive smoking I think ive become bloody addicted! Maybe this was the governments plan all along..make it so that the non-smokers cant passively smoke any more, and because were already hooked (although we didnt know it) we’ll now have to go out and buy our own!

Thats interesting wonder if any other non smokers have experienced that. Its odd that the one area where i thought i might crack i.e when drinking, doesnt really bother me that much, but i’d never thought that non smokers would have any reaction other than thank god for the ban.

…so would any other non-smoking addicts care to make themselves known?? I cant be the only one having withdrawals

do you have the symptoms only when in a place where you’d normally encounter smoking or is it all the time ?

    #375907

no, its not all the time, not a constant craving. I just ocassionally feel like having a fag. I swear I almost bought a packet the other day, but thought better of it as ive got quite an addictive personality. Another weird thing is, I was never very keen on the smell of cigarette smoke, but now if someone stands near me smoking, I actually like the smell of it!! Weird.

I can smell a lit fag from 1000 yds and its wonerful but i can now smell an ashtray from same distance and it stinks.

I hate the smell of Ashtrays and the smell of smoke on people makes me wanna puke.
But I walk past someone smoking a Regal King size and I could rip their arms of for a drag!
And thats after nearly 5 years

The UK will next week become the first European country to introduce graphic images on cigarette packets to warn about the dangers of smoking.
The 15 different images will include pictures of a diseased lung and heart surgery being performed.
They will start to be introduced on 1 October, but it will be another year before all packets contain them as existing stock will have to be sold.
Will it make any difference ?

No, it won’t make the slightest difference. Smokers will only learn when it is too late because most are very stubborn and ignorant.

Your intelligence level never starts to amaze me.

If Smokers wanna smoke let em smoke. They give huge amounts of revenue to the Country.
Stopping smoking is harder than kicking Heroin. It aint an easy thing to do.

You talk as if you know me, but you don’t so you do not need to comment on my intelligence. I am entitled to my opinion like everybody else, and if smoking is harder than kicking heroin so what? You shouldn’t have started in the first place. Congratulations on bringing in alot of the governments income, but then again it’s the tax payers who suffer when your dying in hospital. Oh and another thing I never once said smokers cannot smoke, let them by all means.
All I said in my last post was that pictures on cigarette packet will not make the slightest difference, but you obviously missed my point.

err ! isnt this a site, where you ask for, and offer opinnions ?. whats the point otherwise ?

Did you actually read my post? I’m all for opinions.. unlike some.

Will be like Canada soon Dawny and only able to smoke in and around our own homes

And sorry,,,,,,but it does p*ss me off a little when others bring up the arguments of pple speaking of others dying, and it costs the taxpayer. They may well be, but think of the taxes they also put in. Yes everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but someone who never smoked, would never have the slightest idea, of how hard it really is to give up. And the argument of ‘well dont start in the first place’ is pathetic
