A dead bat brought home by my cat, half eaten by wasps.
Just for Batty17 June, 2008 at 2:24 pm #347680We have the occassional problem of slugs in the student properties and below is the advice we give the students:
“”As you know slugs love to party at night so why not treat them by supplying the drinks. Place a pint glass with some beer in it on it’s side where they hang out . The next morning you will find lots of dead slugs , but at least you gave them a good farewell party. Birds will eat the corpses and be will be singing merrily all day long.””
hope this helps

18 June, 2008 at 8:16 am #347681Slugs are classed as gastropods, which means ‘belly-foot’
The have both male and female sex organs and can lay 200 eggs in a season ( :? )
Slugs have row after row of tiny teeth, which can number up to 27, 000 ( )
A slug can move over broken glass without cutting itself because of the slime.
An inactive slug loses 3 to 5 %of its body weight per hour on a warm day, more if it moves around.
Slugs wont crawl over copper because they hate it.From todays Daily Mail.
Also the numbers are set to quadruple this year.
In a survey done recently, 62% of slugs asked said they would like to be called Buster

18 June, 2008 at 11:01 am #347688did you know that slugs have a perculiar little extremity called the ‘love dart’ which, despite being potentially deadly to the recipient, stabs the slug during copulation and secretes a chemical which increases the likelihood of eggs being fertalised (please don’t ask how I find this stuff out)
