Recipe – 3/4 loaf fruit bread, 1/3 loaf of white bread, all soaked in half a pint of strong black tea. added a jar of mincemeat, 2 eggs, heaped teaspoon of mixed spice, all mixed up together, pop into the slow cooker use a cake liner or grease-proof paper would do
cook it 4 hours on low with a tea towel wrapped round the lid, then take it out and sprinkled with brown sugar and popped it under a hot grill to melt the sugar.Chocolate fudge
Chocolate 500 grams or 4 cups, chocolate melts 1.67 Condensed Mik 1.67 or one and three fourths cups
Line slow cooker with baking paper. This is so that it doesn’t stick to slow cooker and so that you can lift it out once cooked. Pour chocolate melts into the slow cooker, then pour condensed milk over chocolate. No need to stir yet you will need to stir in about an hour. Turn slow cooker on low for 4 hours. Stir well every hour so that the edges don’t burn. After 4 hours remove from slow cooker using the edges of the baking paper to lift out. The fudge will hold it’s shape but should still be soft and ‘bendy’. Place on a tray (still on the baking paper) in fridge for 2hours to set firm.Gooey Chocolate Pudding Cake
1 cup Self Raising Flour 1 cup Sugar 1.66 cups Hot Water 3 tbsp Cocoa Powder unsweetened 1/3 cup Cocoa Powder (extra) 1/2 cup Milk 1 tsp Vanilla Extract 1.66 cups Hot Water
Spray the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, mix together the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla. Spoon the batter into your slow cooker and spread it out evenly. In a small mixing bowl, mix the remaining 1/2 cup sugar, 1/3 cup cocoa powder, and the hot water together. Carefully pour this mixture over the batter. Do not stir. Cover your slow cooker. Cook the cake on High for 2-3 hours. After 2 hours, use a potholder to remove the lid. Carefully stick a toothpick into the center of the cake and pull it out. If the toothpick looks wet, the cake needs to keep cooking. If it has some dry crumbs, its time to eat. If the chocolate pudding cake needs to cook longer, continue to test it with a toothpick every 15 minutes until it’s done.5 members liked this post.

8 cups Milk whole 1/2 cup Natural Yoghurt live/active culture plain yoghurt (you need to have a starter. Once you have made your own, you can use it. Fruits Of Your Choice Method Make your yoghurt on the weekend or a day when you are home to monitor it. Plug in your slow cooker and turn to low. Add all of the milk. Cover and cook on low for 2 1/2 hours. Unplug your slow cooker . Leave the cover on, and let it sit for 3 hours. When 3 hours have passed, scoop out 2 cups of the warmish milk and put it in a bowl. Whisk in 1/2 cup of store-bought live/active culture yoghurt. Pour the bowl contents back into the slow cooker. Stir to combine. Put the lid back on your slow cooker. Keep it unplugged, and wrap a heavy bath towel all the way around the pot for insulation. Go to bed, or let it sit for 8 hours. In the morning, the yoghurt will have thickened—it’s not as thick as store-bought yoghurt, but has the consistency of low-fat plain yoghurt. Blend in batches with your favourite fruit like mango, strawberry, and blueberry. When you blend in the fruit, bubbles will form and might bother you. They aren’t a big deal, and will settle eventually. Chill in a plastic container(s) in the refrigerator. Your fresh yoghurt will last 7-10 days. Save 1/2 cup as a starter to make a new batch.
