    thanks to all who posted.
    i have him off school today as a trip to the docs has been arranged. the rash is still on his face but now on his arms. its weird though, blotchy and very patchy. hes fine otherwise but im scared if it is slapped cheek as his teacher is pregnant, so thought i better get it checked out

    If it is slapped cheek disease (and it sounds very much like it to me) you need not worry unduly about him NOW infecting his pregnent teacher as he is no longer infectious. He WAS infectious for several days before the first symptoms appeared.

    It might be a kindness to inform the school that he has this so that they can advise their staff to take the appropriate action.

    It may be that your son hasn’t actually passed in the virus to his teacher so she is not going to have a problem. Equally the person that passed it to your son in the first place may themselves have passed it on to others. You can never really know.

    Either way it would be a really good idea to inform the school nurse and also the teacher.
