So, in summation, I would say that yes, Adulterous Son of Shoplifter should be sacked as england captain, and the sooner the better.

We still need him as a footballer of course, but maybe not so much as a role model or loyal team-mate. And we can win this 4 year tournament ya know………

No one is perfect and we all make mistakes. Of course its unfortunate his private life had put consequences to his professional life. But he did try to block the papers from printing the story, why did the judge rule against a gagging order? And why is it that Sven never resigned after his shananigans or was asked to resign? Strange. And if his wife forgives him will the country forigive him? And will it have been a big mistake to strip his captainship (is that the right term? )
    Someone please enlighten me

I know i should have read the whole thread, so forgive me if i am repeating what somone has already said…. but football players are roll models. He is a high profile player, and if he is always in the papers for the wrong reasons, his football will suffer. He has to be able to concentrate, and I doubt he will be able to give 100 per cent to the game this year if his private life is all over the place.

His football skills and ability to be captain may not be in question, but in very high stress situations like the world cup, he will need to be coool, calm and collected if he is to captain the team. I doubt that will be possible after this.

My boys informed me yesterday Bob when I asked them did Chelski win and did Terry play that he was “phenomenal (not sure of spellling  ) and he was equally good in last weeks match so at the moment seems his game is not suffering but maybe he is trying that extra bit harder, even though he it seems always gave his all to games. Some people deal with certain situations differently I guess, and he is a true professional footballer and is top of his game for a reason. Will the nation regret putting the pressure for him to sacked?
