I think all the servicemen and women deserve high praise for everything they do for our country, “who” those soldiers are should be irrelevant, isn’t it the people saying “oh he shouldn’t be out there putting our men and women in danger wrong ?” is that classism? Would they complain if the boy from the working lower class suburbs become a successful and popular businessman or should they stay in their place and stay down the coal mines? He has, as has every free human being, which is after all what we are fighting for, every right to fight for his country as did all previous royal kings, they led their troops from the front, as is right. The queen is the head of the armed forces, which is why all her children were expected to “learn the trade” so to speak. The queen herself played her part in service, driving military trucks in world war 2 .So what has this young man done except follow the family “trade” as a leader from the front. You didn’t see the spouses and parents of the soldiers following the kings of our past saying “oh no lets not let the king fight it might put our sons and daughters in danger.” It was their place to lead their forces.
I can understand the concern about him being a bullet magnet but has that not always been the case for hundreds of years of battles in the past, look at king Harold he was an arrow magnet, but he led the way and paid the price.
I hope the services manage to enable him to play part in another tour of service if it is his choice to do so, and the “worlds media” need to keep their bloody noses out of it.
And to date all the men he served alongside had nothing but high praise for him, where’s everyone freedom? Seems he has lost the right to the freedom we all want “just because he is royal ”

its the normal working class squaddies that im scared for Poli.. being under his control as an “officer!” get the fvcker OUT !

In fact I agree with you on two things. Poetry is for airheads.

Hmmm…. now this is confusing, exactly which definition of airhead do you mean?

    a) Airhead – An area of hostile or enemy-controlled territory secured by paratroops or air-assault forces (with or without a Prince of England)

    b) Airhead – A silly, rather unintelligent person.

    c) Airhead – refers to the air-cooled engines of early BMW motorcycles

I am going to go for (a), it can’t possibly be either of the other two meanings!

I hoped this was about Harry Potter

yes he should have come home, countless other solidiers could have been put into danger by him being there. of course he’s no more a hero than the rest of our lads out there and i think he will be the first one to say that. however i thinkhis service out there has shown the royal family what its really like to live like the ordinary folk and fight along side them.

The thing is, its the tabloids that are headlining him as a “hero”, dont assume for one minute that this is how he perceives himself. He said he likes the anonymity, the feel of being “normal”and unrecognised out there. Give him a break fgs hes just a normal lad born into royalty, he didnt ask for it, as far as i can see he would love to get back out there with his pals and carry on with a job he loves. He’s seen as being a threat to the others and so hes been brought home, i think hes gutted personally, but its for the best if him being there is putting other lads and lasses at danger.

Harry doesn’t think he is a hero though!
