yes, exactly, on just chat alone there is a big audiance all with different tastes, some people find some peoples posts funny, others might find them boring

when you try and write somthing, i think you got to be willing to take the negitive comments, and the flack

i used to like eddie murphy, not so much now, same with lenny henry, its all about swearing now on there stand ups, for some this may appear funny, to be it just seems aggresive and puts me off

not so keen on american sit comes too, nore many of the british ones for that, there has been a few in the past, but at the moment for me, nothing is there

will have to write some rough scetchers this weekend, see what new ideas i come up with.. without being too contriversal

The thing that sticks in my head as being the funniest thing over the last months was C4’s The Green Wing. Had me wetting myself, that did.

It’s definitely subjective. Interestingly, though, my favourite American comedy has always been the one man stand up stuff; Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy and Bill Hicks. The sitcoms always leave me a little cold.

I reckon it’s a great idea you all collaborating, though. You wouldn’t have to worry about the Tomster, Soulie, he’s a bigger, gayer, more ursine bear than me.

Fancy joining us PIKEY? sure we’ve got room for a little one, not that I’m saying you’ve got a little one u understand.

Stand-up is where it’s at I guess, would love to have the bottle to go up there and vent my thoughts at people. I’ve always felt sorry for the warm-up guy, you know the stand-up comic who goes on before the main act…whats the thinking behind that?

Is the idea for this wannabe to go and whip the audience into such a frenzy that the’ll laugh at anything the main star says when he can eventaully be bothered to make an entrance? It’s a little lazy if you ask me, it’s the equivalent of me ringing me mate up and saying to him

“Listen, the wifes a bit horny tonight…..but I can’t be arsed with the fore- play, could you come over for ten minutes and warm, her up for me?”

And then me niping in there just as she’s about to explode and finishing her off  you know getting the glory, I wouldn’t come back on though if she started shouting me name after i’d left the bedroom…odds are I’ll be asleep by then.

Can just imagine the conversation between the already big comedic star and the up and coming starlet.

“Right go on then,go on warm them up it’s what i pay you for….., but listen don’t be to F***in funny though eh?..otherwise I’l be lookng for someone else to take to Scarborough next week, so think on”

“Don’t worry bout me too being funny, I’ve nicked you script you C*nt”

Garlic Bread……..that’ll ding dang do for me!!!!!!!!
Now thats comedy….and bo’ selecta and of course Little Britten with my gorgeous man in it…….wheres that lube gone?

i never found bo selector funny to be honest, i did like ali G though, he took the Pish so much better then bo selector ever did

i never knew stand ups had a warm up guest? guess its the same when bands have support bands, but i have seen some great support bands in my time, before they got famous

guess it gives the little person that break they need, and probably more down to the promotor then the main act

Thanks for the thought, Spot. How are you planning on arranging the collaboration?

Not Sure Pikey! Haven’t really thought it through yet, but hey, as soon as I do, I’ll let you know

Not heard back from anyone else yet, so could just be me, you and Soulie, the next Gervias, Merchant and Coogan.

P.s Have you noticed not many women have taken part in this discussion mmmmmmmmm why is that? could it be because women aren’t funny…even the funny ones.

… whats the best sketch you have seen?

The hardware store sketch is something that probably everyone knows here in Finland.

It’s all about how slow the service can be in a hardware store. A man comes to the counter and what ever he asks for the merchant has to go to check if they have it… he walks to the shelf very slowly… looks to the box… walks back very slowly… and says something like: “you wanted 23 nails but we have only 19″… the man has to ask the merchant to bring atleast those 19 to him …and he gets what he wants… but very slowly… the merchant brings every nail one at the time… and so on.

Other one I like is made by same people. It’s about a father and his little baby boy (parts played by a grown up men). The father starts to tell a bed time story to his son, but the son is very witty and argues against everything. He knows what’s going on in mom and dad’s relationship, how dad does at work and it all ends up with this child telling his father how mom makes her living by running an illegal gambling business about dads comings and goings. (“…if dad comes from work before the morning paper is brought you get 2 points… after that we ask where dads car is, if it’s found in front of dad office you get nothing, but if it’s in front of the local bub you get 4 points and if it’s found frome the dump you win the whole game!…”)
