17 May, 2007 at 11:21 am #269918Dispatch from our intrepid reporter in a boozer somewhere in Portugal:
I first saw this bloke hanging around several days ago, before Maddie was abducted and he looked sort of shifty. OK so he lived there… only 100 yards away … but he was still in the vicinity when it happened.
I noticed that he had a squinty eye and that he kept referring to having a daughter that looked just like Maddie, which immediatly aroused my suspicions, so I reported him the the Police.
Medical reports that we have exclusively obtained from his UK doctor, indicate that he has a glass eye. This may have accounted for the squint, but this in itself doesn’t mean that he was not involved in the abduction. He has been separated from his divorced wife for several years and is not believed to have many female friends in the area.
Several days later the Police questioned him and worse still they took away some computers from the house where he lived alone with his aged mother.
This is a clear indication that he is a part of an international paedophile ring and was suspected of being involved in the abduction. He even had a cellar in the house accessed by a trapdoor in the sitting room.
Of course all Portuguese houses have cellars … but the plain fact is that HIS cellar could have been used as a torture chamber and he could have used it without his mother knowing. Any screams as torture was being carried out would not have been heard by neighbours.
The latest news from the Algarve is that this guy had a Russian friend who also owned a computer. Police have taken this computer away for examination and are believed to be looking into various websites used by paedophiles involved in International conspiracies.
The most telling piece of evidence uncovered by this fearless reporter to date is that he not only owned a car, but he frequently used it to drive the 150 yards to the shops …. right past the flat from which Maddie was abducted. The kindappers must have had a car to take her away in afterwards.
I interviewed all the local shopkeepers who all confirmed that he was a regular shopper and frequently drove his car up and down the road past the flat. He was said to have made several purchases of food from these shops.
In this afternoon’s news bulletin … hot from the streets of the Algarve:
* How I traced the bars that he frequented, including exclusive interviews with bartenders that served him. We have the details of what he drank.
* Are the Russian Mafia infiltrating the Portuguese expat community? We prove the links between Moscow and several high profile hotel owners.
* An emotional appeal from Archie Stoat, the world ferret racing champion, who has specially flown out from his private villa in Skegness to make a personal appearance in front of the world’s Press.
* Are yellow ribbons the latest fashion ‘must have’ in the Algarve? Our fashion correspondent has all the latest news and views on your holiday accessories.
17 May, 2007 at 11:33 am #269919I wonder how much media attention this incident would have raised if this little girl had been Asian. If her parents were born in England but were of Pakistani descendants. If the circumstances where exactly the same only they were holidaying in their fatherland and not in Portugal. Would there be wall to wall media coverage…. millions of pounds offered as rewards for her safe return. Would we have dedicated 19 pages on the Just Chat message boards to her and would we be witnessing such a public outpouring of grief and anger.
Makes you wonder doesn’t it.
17 May, 2007 at 11:42 am #269920HMMMM it does indeed to me it woudnt matter what race a child is a still a child….. the fact that they have taken so long and the how the whole thing has been hanlded just shows this world or some countries still have a long way to go in their law makings to be able to tackle people who break it……. no wonder peodophiles, drug barons and so on stay in other countries cause the laws protect them, tut i say…….
I hope they learn from this and start making changes….. and why hasnt england officials gone in or if they have they should do more……..

Sadly, the answer is self evident …. none at all.
It MIGHT have got a brief mention in their local paper if there was no other news around like a supermarket opening or some angry mothers demonstrating about road closures or similar.
What we are now witnessing is a classic Media feeding frenzy – which iis n turn fuelling outpourings of public grief. The last one like this was when Princess Diana was killed.
17 May, 2007 at 12:42 pm #269922Maybe it would cause the same amount of media attention as WHITE males being killed by none white males seems to attract, where a none white male being killed by “claimed” whites causes a media frenzy in comparison
So as spinosa said “It doesnt matter how thinly you slice it there are always two sides”
