Sorry Ruby hun I wasnt ignoring you lol. I do have spyware doctor which runs frequently and I do defrag etc. Thank you for that “advice” you gave me in 40,s last nite Drivel lol. But Owen, according to Tempy, it wont do my pc any harm by leaving it. So do I leave it or not? And anyway, I still dont know for sure what causes these poxy things. I,ve done another defrag and run a scan disc, although, I still cant schedule one to run at startup, you know with the blue screen? So, no freezes yet……………….

You don’t use it, yet it’s running on your pc all the time. Do you know what proportion of your system resources are being used to run this program that you don’t use? :-s

You don’t use it, yet it’s running on your pc all the time. Do you know what proportion of your system resources are being used to run this program that you don’t use? :-s

Owen that was one message that came up. I mentioned it because I,d never heard of it and wondered what it did, how it got there etc. Beleive it or not, sometimes I,ve had a message saying “Just Chat message boards..end task”!! :shock: :shock: So I dont know for certain it,s the AWT thingy causing it. I,ts probably the poltergiest that lives in my house, it eats socks and pens, and now it causes screen freezes too. :twisted: :twisted: And as for programes I dont use running on my pc, there must be a few running in the background that I,ve never heard of and I would have no idea what they did if I had heard of them. If it was the same message coming up all the time then yes, I,d probably say that was the one causing it and get rid of it, but if, as tempy and Geoff have said, it,s not doing any harm then I may as well leave it. It will probably go down as one of those great mysteries in life that will never be solved. :wink: :wink:
Bat..don’t worry about it….I haven’t even mastered how to change font colour or pull down a quote..I’ve been banging my head off the wall and my laptop off the floor :lol:

you tried scandisk defrag so forth , use msconfing to shut down any programs you don’t use.
uninstall programs you never use or didn’t install in first place .
use spy ware virus scan so forth
check temp of CPU and if all this fails , reinstall windows lol
