I just love the English *overcome with choking fit* lauding Andy Murray as ‘possibly the first BRITISH man to win a Grand Slam since 1936 if he beats Roger Federer in the US Open final.’
Yet, by tonight if – heavens forfend – he gets skelped by Federer, Murray will miraculously become Scottish again.

Oh..and where are all the congratulations for the paralympic gold medalists?
Well done to SCOTTISH cyclist Aileen McGlynn for smashing her own record to take another gold, with a world record of one minute and 9.066 seconds.

Well that doesn’t apply to me although I totally agree with the points you make.
Good luck to Murray but I won’t bother if he wins or loses.
I’m English and proud of it – Murray is Scottish and just as proud.
It won’t make me “British” all of a sudden and that’s a fact because I don’t regard myself as British anyway.
