Scotlands defeats usually are horrific.

18 November, 2007 at 9:01 pm #29323218 November, 2007 at 9:32 pm #293233I thought we played pretty well in the second half though it was always going to be a huge task. The way the officials handled the game was poor for both sides. Barry Ferguson did look to be offside and the decision for the free kick at the end was just incredible.
It’s a compliment from England fans if they think Scotland are good enough to be laughed at for losing to a side like Italy. At least Israel have helped you qualify, though if you’re that good then you shouldn’t need it.

If England had been in that group they would never had qualified. The Scottish side have gone from 63rd to 13th in less than 18 months.
England stay the in the same static position.
And PB knows feck all about football anyway lol!!!!
18 November, 2007 at 11:14 pm #293235England would not be put in that group because they are a better football team, what would be the point in putting 3 top teams in the same qualifying group?
as for the game, scotland deserved a point, without creating many open play chances, they created the better chancers over the 90 mins, as for the free kick that was’nt… you could argue about the goal that should’nt and the goal that should
you talk of however, how well scotland have done.. look at n.ireland, for them to be in with a chance still of making it through, is more of a achivement then scotland

I will also be rooting for N Ireland to go through, but that is also a slim chance.
I have just never ever seen two such games like yesterday. The Isreal game they and Russia were rubbish, neither team had any passing quality. Scotland made the world champs look like Potter Street (my local side) but I agree with Glenn Hoddle…. its what you do in the competitons…. luck has a lot to do with it.
