so if it’s not a faded copy of The Sun from eating your fish and chips….

I don’t think it’s time for countries to be splintering apart. The modern world is being run by big powerful blocs and size is going to matter.

There are a lot of things wrong with the way the UK was set up and is run, but I don’t think splitting up the people of these island is the best thing. We can share an economic and National future without losing ethnic identities.

Funny how Scotland only becomes important when you only realise that you may lose her…

oh we can still be friends scep :) just, the last time the Scots were promised more Devo powers, got Thatcher into No 10. no need to give an intelligent man like yourself a History lesson. IM SURE I DO NOT NEED TO SPELL IT OUT TO YOU The mutual hatred between her and a large majority Of Scotland.. She shat on us from a very great height..

if Scotland does become independent, then England should do all in her power to make the separation amicable..shield Scotland from the financial problems of transition, push for Scotland to enter the EU (though Spain may veto this – they have separatist problems of their own)..show the spirit of close friendship and alliance.

I fear the English may not do this – the Tories feel as hostile to an independent Scotland almost as much as the Scots hate the Tories.

I also fear that a Yes vote would plunge both England and Scotland into financial turmoil – I hope I’m wrong about this, and that any turmoil is short-lived.

I want the Scots to remain with us, though. I do fear Scotland could be dancing into poverty wrapped in the flag of St Mel Gibson. England’s going to be worse off, too, in spite of short-sighted comments on this thread.

I kinda agree with your last statement scep.

But I’ve always felt Scotland was important, while hating the injustice and brutality involved in bringing about and maintaining the Union. I think what you’re labelling as a previous lack of importance was actually no believable prospect that it would ever actually be lost.

As for failures of Social DEMOCRATIC ‘experiments’, they survive where there is a real consensus – most notably in Scandinavian countries.

Having said that, Since Thatcher’s election and especially Johnsons’ Mayorship and Cameron’s installation, I’ve been convinced that the future lies with the handbasket-weavers. This would be one more oar to take us down the Styx. If you pardon the mixture of mythologies.

och stop getting yer knickers in a twist.. the NO voters will win anyway.

45% of scots are brave and can make their own mind up

40% are scared ot too inyo the Monarchy to let Queenie go.
10% are too apatheitic to get out of bed.

5% say “referendum WHAT referendum.?” AND WATCH YET ANOTHER RE RUN OF bRAVEHEART

I said this elsewhere.. but we should have a game of “guess the daily mails headlines” next week..They will have us linked to some jihadi paedophile ring..my first guess..erm .
“SCOTLAND TO BE NUKED BY NORTH kOREA IF THE VOTE YES..”
