They might function on the application of guilt, but the bottom line is that you dont have to give a Penny if you dont want to.
It’ll cost a Hundred Grand Plus to unveil the Higher Secrets of Scientology which is that 75 Million Years ago Xenu the Space Alien brought billion’s of people to Earth in a Spacecraft, stacked them around Volcanos, and blew them up with H-Bombs. The souls then clustered together, and stuck to the bodies of the living. This is the cause of our Medical and Mental problems today according to them.
It’ll cost you a fortune to know all that sh.it.Yes, I realise that Walking on Water, rising from the Dead, and turning Water into Wine is a bit Left Field, but It sounds sane in comparision
15 May, 2007 at 1:34 am #270813So are you member of this cult?

Well thats not exactly true either is it?
They function on the application of guilt, otherwise their collection plates would be empty of they would be handing out money at each sitting rather than collecting it, although the method of extortion is more subtle its just as effective
But many forms of christian religion also DO give a slice of their income to the church, as do mormons, muslims and countless other well known religions and it IS an obligation with them rather than a choice btw
Religions like catholicism just focus on brainwashing people with the virtue of “giving” and in instilling a strong sense of guilt for not giving till it hurts (excuse the pun lol), which makes it a bit more devious and much more psychologically biased
Applying the same difference to people in general, I would have much more respect for someone who just asked for money than for someone who tried to manipulate me into offering it to them personally
The ole collection bag going round, i mind when I was 8 I got the hiding of my life because instead of putting my money in i half inched some of the money…. I got caught because I went to the tallyvan…!!!
15 May, 2007 at 11:25 am #270815another bunch of alien worshippers thats just what our children need . someone else to be scared of.
religion should be banned whatever flag it flies under.15 May, 2007 at 2:31 pm #270816I do apologise ….. I misread the title of this thread (Scientology the “cult”) and thought it was about something else.

But scientologists, mormons, JW’s, evangelists, Muslims etc etc etc ALL know they have to pay their membership fees before they join and equally “CHOOSE” to still participate anyway
So the choice is still there which ever approach to extrortion a religion uses, and with the exception of Islam people also have the choice of leaving any religion whenever they choose too
As for the alien thing, I actually reckon thats far more credible than some nonsense about some solitary almighty being who just clicks his fingers and creates universes and living beings personally
Even at our rather crude level of technology we are already talking about the pros and cons of terraforming mars and we cant even get people there yet
15 May, 2007 at 3:36 pm #270818YAY @ me, I finally got around to using the quote function rather than copying and pasting
15 May, 2007 at 8:11 pm #270819scientology doesnt matter weather we are against it or for it, ive spent time today looking at their site looking at the positve and the negative and ubermik i know u have valid points to make and im not sure how much you actually know about this so called cult disguised as a religion, both words religion and cults are clearly defined in the dictionary and as much as these scientology people feel they have something going for them which fare enough some do for a while but when ure so called leader is fake all the things in life he has done or so called done, Mr L Ron Hubbard was nothing more than a fictionl writer, who wrote about aliens and so on….. so does this not accur to society that someone who is able to write about such things can make up the ideal cult or religion for what they call it.
The belief is that some overlord had taken aliens and placed them in u bombs dropped in volcano’s which then are released as little tiny alien spirit that can latch on to people who control our every thought and feelings emotions and so forth is a complete and utter, using the nicer form of the word boll ox, i know deep down i am who i am and that no small alien is control what i am typing right now and if that were the case. Woudnt we all suffer from multipile personality disorders.
They lure people in by saying that their is something wrong in our lifes which is what we all automatically think anyway, no one anywhere is trully really happy with every spectrum of their lifes and those who say so fare plays let me know how u do it lol……They then ask you to pay for courses to help you find your way anything from 50 quid to 20 000 for the highest courses and that is just for you to sit there and say what is wrong with your life and how can you fix it……. yes there are helpers coucilers that might provide these kind of services aswell help us help you by giving us money…. but in no way has a religion of which i know like islam mormons j’w or christain ask give 50 quid and well fix you they only ask for donations which you can give willingly and the vicar, church leader and so on are there to help you freely money or no money, so how these people can class it as a religion, hmmmmm i do not understand.
After you morgaged your home cut ties with your family, and yes this is all the things they do get you to do, you then carry on paying them for this wonderfull service and if you cant afford they ask you to make friends with the credit cards, help you get in depth more and more so that you can fund them helping you get rid of these so called little spirit aliens.
There have been many people who have killed themselfs over this cult / religion
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=scientology
please do watch the one where it says the UNFUNNY TRUTH ABOUT SCIENTOLOGY
and yes people die everyday and yes people kill themself but why give them one more religion or cult to do it with……..
and this how they start even a personality test to help you and gues what it not free lol you gotta do it then meet them and follow the get rid of my money trail…
each to his own pml and dont even get me started on them believing about reincarnation cause if that is the case……. i wonder where HITLER right now…..
16 May, 2007 at 1:04 am #270820After placing this post last night, I had a very strange day.
First the kettle started to whistle, its electric and never done that before.
Then I as follow by an ice cream van all day, which is strange too; after all it was raining here all day. But I do buy a lot of ice cream.
Then I saw a fox that was not trying to have sex, but was eating out of the bins of the local curry house.
That’s odd too; everyone knows foxes don’t like curry.
I think I am being followed too, and not stalked like normal by the walking dead in f3.
But I will say it again.Scientology are a cult, there are nuts, their dangerous and their no place for them here.
If you see them in the street trying to sell there lunatic ideas, image that you are in forum 1, newcomers room and see how many 4 letter words you can fit into a sentence.
