My wee Grandson has it :( seemingly it is on the rise again, what with all those flu viral infections going around. Why are these old illnesses coming back again ? I had bother with SF as a child. I remember the feeling of dreadfullness and that i was never believed until the rash appeared ! And i cannot even go and see him as i have a mega low immune system..
just thought i would warn other mother/grandmothers out there.

Oh no! Hope hes OK Rubes xoxox

That is a strange illness to be comin back again, that type of sickness like Typhoid fever (which nearly killed my grandmother when she was a child) I thoguht were long gone….Why are we subjecting our kids to flu shots and swine flu shots etc…. if their going to be catching illness that we havnt heard of for the last 20 or 30 years?

I just called them 5 minutes ago choccy.. yeah he is fine and running about daft and asking to come up to my house. He had a flu type thing last week and was on amoxillin. This has came from a strep throat he had.he is covered in a rash seemingly. They contacted the neccessary Nurseries etc, as its contageous.
But yeah to the old fashioned diseases returning, seemingly TB and ricketts are due a new wave !

I will just need to make damm sure i NEVER contract Housemaids knee :)

What pharma wants pharma gets . . . . little wonder ” natural medicines ” will steadily decline and prescription mania will be the order of the day ! ~ Katchinnnnnnng ~

Hope your grandson recovers without delay rubyred AND without the need to ingest any of the so-called ” medicines “ :)

Are you sure it is Scarlet Fever and not a side effect to amoxillin.. some kids have low tolerance and a red rash is a symtom of an adverse reaction… just a thought

Mrs Teapot,, thats exactly what i said when the rash first appeared, we did the tumbler test for meningitis etc. Thankfully all was well. But he worsened over night, a call to the Doctor and being told to take him down.2 doctors seen him and it was diagnosed SF. He has the swollen glands etc that accompany the diagnosis. He is now covered in the rash, but otherwise not too bad considering. I will go see him in a couple of days.

Cheers Girls :) yeah he is fine as fine can be.Telephoned them earlier and all he went on about were the spots on his ” boabie” LOL.. typical 4 year old. Im going down in afternoon, but im just releived that, despite the awfullness of the rash and the slapped cheeks look, he is otherwise fine and being spoiled rotten. No doubt i shall be shown the aforementioned ” boabie” .

    ah the joys :) xx
