S’funny cos Im very un PC (according to those I work with) BUT
whats the difference between a ginger beer and carpet muncher?
Whats the difference between a sheep sha/gger and a paddy whack?
Whats the difference between a slit eye and a tea towel head?
Answer- your own perception about what is and isnt polictically correct and using personal examples is not always helpful.
My dad and mum didnt blink at using the phrase “n*gger brown” to describe a colour but that doesnt mean they were representative of the whole population! Sixty years ago, the word n*gger was not considered derogatory or offensive….oh, to those that used it that is!
22 May, 2007 at 5:12 pm #271281I cant see how he was insulting shirt lifters in the slightest
What he WAS doing was saying the car was a turd tappers sort of car, no different to saying a tigra or a new mini was a hairdressers car
But if you make it seem like some “special” subsets of society can complain about just about anything and people will then bend over backwards (or forwards lol) to please them then they would be idiots not to take advantage of their priveledged status wouldnt they?
I really cant see what the fuss is about over this
Hetrosexual men get slagged off or ridiculed daily in programs and adverts and nobody bats an eyelid, but not even insulting, but just referencing rusty bullet hole excavators and theres an outcry and its raining handbags and size 10 stillettos all of a sudden
22 May, 2007 at 5:29 pm #271282As I said, its individual perception..I find ginger beer neither offensive or abusive, but I am neither ginger nor gay
N I couldnt think of a worse combination…ginger AND gay

Its a good point. There was a programme on C4 recently about people who are filmed doing weird things. A black man dressed as a black nationalist panther making fun out of white people. The black panther went into a video shop and asked about a film, pretendid he didn’t know arnold swarzenegger was in it, the shop assistent said the name, and the black panther accussed him of racism, the bloke was very scared and appologetic, but he hadn’t done anything wrong.
The black panther WON the contest, got raptuous applause.
This is a different sketch, but same tv show and contestant.

The one where he is in a KKK suit in new orleans trying to cadge some petrol of blacks filling their cars up is hysterical, I think in the same one he tries to take his KKK suit into a black owned dry cleaners lol

dunno, if its ok I call you cu/nt, is it ok for everyone? Very few black people use the word nigga, especially in the UK- just because you believe the hype of mainstream media doesnt mean we’re all sucked in
22 May, 2007 at 11:27 pm #271289So, what if Jeremy had referred to the car as being OLD? Would that be offensive to OLD people?
