Cars, right. Blame seems again some times those driving with no license or those under influences. But we too unfortunately have another serious issue on major highways, deer life, crossing over, fox, possums, bears occasionally. Nature’s creature who have moved habitat due to much over development and no shelter to live away from society.
We’re talking guns here drac….not cars……cars aren’t to blame when some one gets run over….normally the driver….as in guns…….normally the owner that pulls the trigger…how ever, guns are only used for one purpose…to shoot…as i said….if no one had guns…….no one would be able to shoot any one!
Cars have one valid purpose…transport…ok there’s issues with environment etc but guns just shoot and no one needs a gun to travel with in all honesty. Because of the simple fact….if no one had guns…no one would be expecting any one to have a gun so they wouldn’t need a gun them selves.
You either support guns or you don’t in my opinion. I don’t so i don’t justify any nation or any individual having guns. That’s just me………..

Agree not liking guns, when younger my brother and I very close. We used to use bee bee guns to play with. Used at targets. That is all. My brother and I had best of times. Manufactured companies encouraged toy buying of guns, rifles. Fit in our society for protection, law enforcement as well.
But today your right, guns influences have made it more difficult. Here believe it is under our freedom act. “Right to bear arms.” I too would like to go back to original use for them, food and protection.
But yes all mine or toys of such removed. Influence to use to harm/kill ., theft, make me nervous. I do not want to be accountable if some one gets hurt.

misterq, read the news! cars are now used to mow down large numbers of harmless and defenceless people. As these people aren’t able to defend themselves, they have to wait like sitting duck to be picked off until someone with a gun arrives to shoot the killer.
I totally agree with your feelings. In a world without guns, and without people seeking to harm one another, we’d be much happier. But we don’t live in such a world. In the UK weapons were banned after the awful Dunblane massacre 20 years ago, but guns and a gun culture flourish in many parts of the country.
I’m all for the strictest and continuing checks on guns and who owns them. I support strct checks on he guns being held in a locked cabinet. I’m all for the strictest checks on the types of gun owned – in the USA people can buy a bazooka with which to defend themselves.
With such controls, I’d support the use of a weapon, including a gun, to defend yourself.
I say this very tentatively. I’ve been with friends who would never own a gun, because it would just encourage someone to break into the house to get it – this was in Jo’burg, the most violent city in the world.. I was told that when shooting broke out in their neighbourhood, a neighbour who did own a gun was frightened to take it out for self-defence as it would mark him out for future raids.

Reviewing threads again not thought of this before, but car issues some times are used in bomb deliveries. Focus before on those for driving which may create injuries for others. Popped up in head..car bombers Like the one years ago with F.B.I. center. New York was around Christmas, 2-3 years ago.Time Square.. did your area not have that as well. Driving vans into crowded areas innocent people. Scary what crazy people do to make a statement or protest to get attention. We even had issues in lockers at Grand Central Station..terminal.
Brother an Engineer for Railroad said they found one on a train in the yard. Next Engineer and passengers would have been killed…school bus recall as well.Be well..

Cars are only used for one purpose, to drive. If no one had cars then no one would be able to run anyone else over.

Even if you didn’t have a criminal record, you shouldn’t be allowed to own a gun!!!
If Switzerland has no or nearly no gun incidents…….why do they need guns in the first place? I’ll tell you what i think…….it’s because Switzerland have always been a neutral country as regards warfare and guns. The only reason Switzerland(apparently has an army) is because of invasion threats. But lets face it……when you are as peaceful as Switzerland…who would wish to invade you?
I mean other countries only have a war if they want to occupy your land, re-occupy their land expand their territory or exploit your mineral resources, oil, gold, want to force their way of life upon you, see you as a threat or want you to become part of the hive.
Lot of people who aren’t necessarily Swiss have bank accounts in Switzerland. Probably explains a lot of things.
