PB i dont/didn’t know any of the “Giggles” but even so i think you could have been a little more tactful in your reply for the sake of real life/internet friends of “Giggles” reading this post. A births/marriages/deaths forum would make more sense (for the JC community you like to advertise this as) and be more worthwhile than a “hello/goodnight” thread. Just a thought #-o
Well Catmanblue – I’m now in something of a quandary after your post.
Not only did you not know the allegedly deceased ”Giggles” but it would seem that many many others didn’t know him (or her) either. In fact there is a strong suggestion floating around the Forums that the currently being grieved over ”Giggles” may well have been ….. wait for it …. a FAKE !!! Yes a real live (or indeed dead) fake ”Giggles”.
This means that a number of users have betwween them wasted several boxes of Kleenex tissues (thus unnecessarily contributing to the UK landfill and waste disposal problems).
They are now thoroughly confused. Should they continue to publicly grieve, even though they didn’t know the deceased loved one? Should they wear black and abstain from sex for a week? Should they denounce the entire thing as a dreadful hoax? Is the apparently fake ”Giggles’ really a florist – sniggering in their nasty little shop and rubbing their hands in glee at the thought of all the flowers they will soon be selling to gullible mourners.
So your suggestion causes a bit of a problem, as if there were to be a Dead and Departed Forum, people could post messages that user ****** had just died etc. The concentration of expressions of grief, messages of condolence, and general howling and wailing all in one place would be simply too much for ordinary mortals to bear.
We might even have to post a public health warning for those of a weak disposition, in case they went in by accident, read an assortment of miscellaneous death notices, and discovered to their horror that they were dead themselves. Now that would never do.
I mean … this is a really difficult subject and I am trying to deal with it in a sensitive manner – but as you know, I don’t do tact.
However, if we are all to make this work … then some suggestions as to how it could be done would be a good place to start.
No idea PB I thought (silly me for assuming logic on JC message boards) that the majority of folk would use the forum as it was intended ie celebrations of new life, marriages etc but then again I forgot about the netnerds and how the minority of chatters would ruin it for the majority.
Would also assume that a thread as this, that was started by a reg, UNDER THEIR OWN LOG IN NAME, and not as an impersonator, would hold some credance to the content. Will leave it up to you experts to sort it out  I cant be bothered any more and Im sure you wont lose your beauty sleep over it!!4 June, 2007 at 8:10 pm #272485^^^ thats true actually..its not like some stranger came along and made an announcement ..ok, an error in life..as i say before Andrea WIll find this amusing..so cant it all be wiped?

4 June, 2007 at 9:10 pm #272486I for one dont use the boards much but i do read through em now and then when I have nowt better to do!!! No telly ya see … anyways – I cant imagine any of the staff wantin to remove this thread when so many people want to have input!!! Thing is as with many of the other threads … ya can see from page 1 where its heading!! Now that its been cleared up and realised there has been a mistake made …. it gives all the ppl on the boards summat to moan about! Personally I’d move it to ‘STD’ cos thats what this is now all really about!!!
4 June, 2007 at 9:47 pm #272487well to be honest i think the whole thread was pointless. no one has a clue who she was….apart from the person who asked did to post. perhaps they could clarify? :?:

Exactly sunny…. I got in touch with you PRIVATELY the way TRUE friends should. Would you have liked it if I had come to the boards and made a whole thread out of it though?
I sumtimes get the kinda feeling that the people who start these death threads are more concerned with their own self importance than with any sympathys for the deceased.
4 June, 2007 at 10:59 pm #272489Whoa there …. back up a little huh?
So let me get this right. Somebody ….. who may or may not live in Ireland and who may use, but probably does not use these Boards, and whose nickname might be Giggles – but there and again might not be him / her …. allegedly died sometime, somewhere.
Apparently it might have been in Ireland, but equally they might have died in Timbuctoo. or not even died at all. Nobody seems to know him / her but those who don’t know him / her (i.e. everybody) are real sorry that they’ve died – or not as the case may be. (RIP whatisname or something!)
Meanwhile fastcars – back from his weekend in Lala land – reckons that because of all this confusion we should spend loads of time and effort on opening up a new Forum dedicated to the dead.
No idea of a name or anything ….. no idea of how to stop accidental death notices or even to differentiate them from the real ones. No suggestions on how to deal with the ”resurrected ones”. Oh no …. somebody might have died so stuff the details, let’s all just get on with the howling and bawling. Light up some candles, sing a few hymns and we can all wallow in third party grieving.
I think that this is just a typical fastcars scam to let him sell candles, black dresses, and of course Dutch flowers to all those mourners that he will attract to his proposed new ”Forum of the Living Dead”.
Well I’ve got news for you baby … you can take yer tulips from Amsterdam and stuff them right up Lil Angel’s memorial.

5 June, 2007 at 5:04 pm #272493Maybe it’s time to replace the TV Soaps Chat Forum (1 Topic), with the old Announcements Forum.. :-k This time maybe the Chat Gestapo can keep a firmer eye on it than last time. Who Knows, Fastcars could sit just in the door selling black Daffs and tulips and Pats & Sunny could entertain the mourners as they piled out the other end
And no-one will ever beat Nitty (Nitrox) for the Premature Death Gong (How many times did he die?)
