its very true, seems like if you play for the top 4 teams you get a given right to play for england, richardson? Crouch? none of those are good enough to play for england.. prime examples
9 February, 2007 at 7:40 pm #235237Every game’s a chance to try to get the blend and balance though. What’s the point in McLaren playing a load of guys from lower divisions when they aint gonna be there when the Qualifiers start again?
I said they should have went for Martin O’Neill at the time. McLaren should be given time to get things right though. Let’s not forget either that it was top quality opposition Engayland were up against.10 February, 2007 at 1:54 pm #235238HERMY IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!!!!

10 February, 2007 at 5:39 pm #235239Loosing a friendly never got sven the sack. Loosing to NI didn’t.
Loosing to spain isnt normally a disaster. Loosing at home, when theres little commitment is.
Doing the above without your best front 2, best centre back, best and second best left back’s, no joe cole. Gerrard and lamps taken off early etc etc, is no reason to sack Maclaren.
You have to be judged on PROPER games.
If Maclaren doesn’t get us to atleast the semi-final’s of the Euro final’s in 08, then he’s not good enough.
We HAVE to be challenging for trophies.
12 February, 2007 at 10:18 pm #235240I judged McClown before he got the job, and look at our sad footy team now.
He is pathetic!!!!!!!!!
I can’t be bothered ranting anymore about the matter because………

He is pathetic!!!!!!!!!The spain result was not his fault totally. You should be placing part blame at the clubs his players play for who restrict their performances. Had it been the world cup final, EVERY SINGLE PLAYER even 50% fit would’ve put themselves forward for participation, because its a game worth playing in, the spain one wasn’t as important.
Im not sure about mclaren, but he should be judged on what he does with the tools available.

  :roll:24 March, 2007 at 12:43 pm #235244My Prediction………………
Israel 1 England 1
How very sad, sack the c00nt now!24 March, 2007 at 11:35 pm #235245NO passion.
NO commitment.
NO desire.
NO game plan.
NO goals.
NO answers from the “manager”, just the usual diplomatic nonsense.
Im not sure if Maclaren is able to do his job 100% the way he would like, due to the financial side of how the FA is run.
When the political revolution happens, im applying to be Football Minister. I will sack all those who make important decisions at the FA. They are absolute failures, and more interested in money than success.
I will ask the current English managers in our professional leagues to vote for the chap they want as England manager. He will be offered £10,000 a week. If he doesn’t want it, then the second voted person, and so on.
No player will be paid for playing for England, whilst they have an income more than £1,000 a week elsewhere, but all expensies will be paid. Its about the shirt.
Public and media disaproval of the manager and players will not hold bearing on the manager and players positions as ambassadors of the English game.
This will take the enourmous pressure off them, and will enable them to relax in doing their job.
Their will be no celebrity status expectantcy in doing the job, and celebrity status in doing the job will be seriously frowned upon.
I will ban all media outlets who abuse the English game, from entering into a home fixture and press confrences etc.
It will cost £10 per adult, and £5 per child per England match.
